Really must every movie be friendly to 7 year olds. It was not really that dirty.

No, it wasn't. I brought my four year old because the first one is her favorite movie. They went a little farther than the first but it didn't bother me. If I hear my daughter using any of the language they used I will talk with her about it because that's what parents do. I was watching r rated movies way to early but strongly believe that if you don't shroud them from the world around them and talk openly with them about it then it won't be taboo.
I'm not saying I'm going to watch Goodfellas with her or anything but fun movies that use them sparingly shouldn't be an issue among parents. Unless the parents themselves are afraid/embarassed to talk with their children about what is and is not allowed.

i'm in this camp. i mean i'm not bitching about it, just (hopefully) humorously commenting on where they pushed it. it probably wouldn't have registered at all if it were my wife or a friend and i.
i really do try to let me kids experience the world and i'm not going to melt about them hearing a few words. they will live. The problem with a lot of the comic book movies is the huge difference between a pg-13 of a Captain America/Ant-Man movie and a pg-13 GotG or Iron Man movie. both meet the no full nudity, gore, or 2 f bomb minimums, but they're similar content that take a different approach to reach that rating.
so all that to say was, it's fine life will go on... it's PG-13 and i'm my own parent. if my kids start dropping the f word and talking about engorged nether regions, i failed, not anybody else.
i read family reviews and just feel that a few of them underplayed what to expect going in there.
now the under 10 year old kids i saw in Deadpool and Logan on the other hand...

While I somewhat agree, I also understand that 90% of the marketing was an adorable baby groot dancing around on television. So of course kids 4 and up are going to want to see the movie.
Basically they marketed a PG-13 towards little kids IMO.

I could be reaching. Just trying to put some pieces together.
1. Thanos is in love with Death. The after credits scene of Avengers mentioned Thanos "courting" her.
2. Death is one of a number of Cosmic beings, such as Eternity, Infinity, and Oblivion. When Peter Quill stole the Power Stone, there was mural depicting these 4 entities.
3. Celestials can wield infinity stones. Apparently, so can Ronin and Thanos, but they aren't Celestials. The 4 entities mentioned above are more powerful than Celestials, and I assume they're meant to maintain some kind of order.
According to Screenrant's theory, being that Ego started out as a brain and planet Knowhere is an ancient celestial head, perhaps it was Ego's head. Maybe millions of years ago, before renewing his existence as a brain floating in space, he got into some mischief and was decapitated by someone more powerful.
Taking all this a step further, if the above is true, Ego could've been killed by Death or Eternity or the others. Once Thanos completes his infinity guantlet and starts turning the universe inside out, Death could play a part in stopping him. Poetic justice. He wants the stones to woo Death, and she leads to his demise.
Like I said, I could be reaching.

To be fair, they marketed a comic book imo.
I mean, most comic books are super cheesy, have bad sex jokes, Baby Groot's and/or Lockjaws and Lockeeds, then.....
Tons of violence, death, guns, and sexualized, disproportionate women with big boobs. If you've ever seen a comic book, then this shouldn't be a shock.

Yeah that guy is most likely dead (you even here the *thud* as he hits the far wall), and Groot did it in cold blood. Just a thought.

exactly. Back to the Future had cursing and an attempted rape and it was actually PG. For a culture that allows their kids to do some really dumb shite now, people sure get angry at a little language. My 9 and 10 year old nephews have GTA on their tablet and play Call of Duty games on Xbox but my sister acts like I am a problem if I say shite around them.

No kidding. It's like a person I know who got all up in arms because they went to a nice restaurant and it didn't have a kid's menu for their child. So they vowed to never return.
A little research before hand would let anyone know if a restaurant, movie, etc are appropriate to bring your kid. Not everything in life has to cater to children or those who have them.

Finally got around to seeing it and I liked it a lot. Probably not as solid and well rounded as the first but still very good.
Thought the soundtrack was great again. Still had the heart and humor that the first had just thought the story was slow until the end
