Very good, very self referential. Kurt Russell did a great job, and they did a great job of de-aging him.

Not as seamless as the first.

Yeah, you could tell they were trying too hard at times, especially with Drax's dialogue. I know they were trying to set up The Sovereign, but I just found myself checking out every single time they were on the screen.

I said Brandy would make a great movie in this thread, and I had been working on a literal version of it for fun. They did a much looser sort of half adaptation with Russell in this one.

Just got out.

It's good, but not as good as the first which is to be expected.

I enjoyed it overall.

It's odd,

I like the first film more, but kudos to the second film for not falling into the "bigger is better" trap most superhero sequels fall into.

The arc the characters go through in this one is better than anything the Avengers go through in all of their films.

After 15 films you would think the Marvel thing would be getting old, but Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 proves that the first one was no one trick pony.

Liked it a lot, not near as good as Vol 1 but that's expected. Feel like they forced Drax way too much in this one.

Mantis could get it

Thought they? did a good job with Ego. I wasn't too familiar with the character. In the comics can he take human form?

I disagree. People don't like to admit it, but the first one had a lot of akward cuts; you could tell the director was trying to find his footing. Gunn didn't hold anything back with GotG2, and the movie was better for it. This one flowed much better, imo.

Also, I don't think draxx was forced. You could tell the main point of this film was to flesh out the interactions with these characters, which they weren't able to do in the first; I could see draxx making every comment he makes. I liked his expanded role a lot.

For people who LOVE Empire so much because of the character interactions and development, you will probably fall in love with this one too. (Plus, there is more story to this film than Empire. *Trigger Alert*)

I went in wanting to see a fun marvel movie with some soul and they delivered. Great movie theater experience.

9/10 - not much room for improvement

ETA: The Chain
Vol.2 soundtrack was great

They did a good job with Quill getting triggered regarding his mother. It felt like real emotion.

Ego was done really well.

Kurt Russell was excellent.

Yes. The character development is what really blew me away in this film. They took time to flesh out every character.

Also, Gunn did not fall in the marvel trap of having an underdeveloped bad guy.

The Sovereign seemed like an added device, a McGuffin for them to have some sort of mission. Some of the bits interrupted the flow a bit (Stan and the Watchers, Stallone). They went for comedy over story this time and it worked. It was hilarious.

Yondu actually steals this movie in my opinion.

His redemption arc is awesome from volume 1 to volume 2.

Also, does he have one of the baddest weapons of all time?

Yeah Ego was actually a pretty good villian compared to most other Marvel villains
