Winter has come and it is freezing in the North yet no one ever wears a hat to keep their head warm.

I would say Tywin.

As soon as Robert died, she lost all control of her sons. She never had any real power until she destroyed the sept and all her kids died
I wouldn't even say Tywin for most of Roberts reign. That would go to the hand of the king, whoever that would be at the time who essentially was king without the crown.

Looming question:
Will we ever see Howland Reed?
Will we ever see Howland Reed?

I think after the decimation of Yara's fleet/Dorne's army it'll be much easier to side with them.

No. Next question.
One thing that I haven't seen discussed is that the opening scene confirmed that TPTWP prophecy is ambiguous on gender AND that Mel believes it isn't one person. I think we have known that the word prince could be read as princess for a while, but having the implications of that on TPTWP prophecy is nice.
Mel will be at Dragonstone when Jon arrives. Jon will not be happy with Mel, and I don't think Danny (or Varys) will take kindly to child sacrifice. On the other hand Mel still seems to believe Jon is prophetically important, so she will likely counsel Danny to trust Jon.

is there a shortage of ravens?
"hey Jon....dude, invest large in dragonglass - Sam"
"Jon - come down to Dragonstone, lets hang - Tyrion"
if these messages are so easily sent, where is the
"your crippled arse baby brother just showed up on our doorstep being pulled on a sled of twigs by some chick - The Nights Watch"
how has this not happened??

Timeline differences? Maybe Bran gets to the wall right as Jon leaves Winterfell (so "now") or maybe Bran hasn't even gotten to the wall in Jon's storyline.
Given the complexity of these plot lines and the variations in which one(s) have more going on at a particular time, I don't think you can ever say that everything in episode happened before everything in episode 2.

There is no way Tarly sides with the Lannister. They made him look like a huge count last year so that we'd get that fuzzy feeling when he remains loyal and honorable. For the most part, this show doesn't do 1-note characters. Would be way too easy to make him a turncoat

This. People really need to understand that these storylines are not always simultaneous
Especially brans storyline. You think it would be easy to understand after he sat out an entire season

I have a feeling he and some others side with Cersei. If they don't then Danny is going to roll over the Seven Kingdoms even with Euron out there.
We know the Unsullied get to Casterly Rock and land. If Danny owns the might of The Reach (essentially unbloodied at this point), Dorne (also unbloodied), and a landed force of Unsullied/Dothraki then Cersei is super fricked. Randyll Tarly and some of his friends siding with her adds some tension.

Huh? He's been a vilified character since Season 1. It would be weird if all of a sudden he was a good guy. He threatened to kill his own son in the woods because he was a fatty. It's not like Ramsey or Joffery ever showed a softer side. Tarly is a very pragmatic man much like Tywin who will value his family name over everything. If he can raise his house standing, I think that would be very inticing to him.

Dorne (also unbloodied)
If the sand snakes were in that battle, then so were some if not all of the dornish fleet

That was basically the entire point of that battle. They had to slow down Dany (a common theme for her story).
Also I kind of chuckled at the dragon spear they showed, it was big and badass but how many opportunities do they think they are gonna have to shoot a still target dragon?

How about... Euron experience? He is the most feared captain in their world. Surely he would know how to watch for, and capitalize on, favorable weather.

I don't think she believes that, she just doubts her ability to interpret the prophecy after she apparently burned a girl alive for no reason.

This seems like a stupid reason but aren't the maesters the ones that usually send and receive the ravens? The Night Watch's maester died and the maester in training is interning at the Citadel.

ASOIAF is kind of like a perfect engine with many parts. D&D decide to change a few parts. But in doing so, they are forced to change the connecting parts to those parts. It's a chain reaction. So you have ASOIAF which is perfectly pieced, logical story. And you have HBO's GoT which some storyline, characters' lines and motivations seems contradictory.
It's still a great show and I'm going to watch it religiously. But if you're going to compare to the book in every aspect, then you're going to be disappointed.

Would be really handy to break lines but not to shoot at a flying dragon

I'm also sick of Dany. I think she has become very unlikeable and seems to be turning into Cersei-lite. She's gotten way overconfident and thinks she's smarter than she actually is.
Jon will straighten her out. Accidental incest aside, he knows where to put it.
