Idk why anybody would side with the Lannisters in this.

I think he sides with the lannisters bc he's an unlikeable prick (and unlikeable pricks must unite together) and the writers have him going down in this show because of that.

And spreading a dragon glass ointment on the fresh wounds or did you miss that part?

I thought this was a Maesters thread

I was wondering why the Berathion cigil is still over kings landing in the opening credits. Why is it not the lion? They changed winterfell from the flayed man back to the dire wolf when Jon took it back from Ramsey. Can anyone explain this?

And it's also a procedure that, if not done right, can lead to death. Was no one paying attention?

Cersie is still technically a Baratheon, she is Robert's widow and hasn't remarried, and she's taking over for her sons who were both "Baratheons".

If she straight up claimed it for the Lannisters now she'd lose a bunch of allies who are sworn to the Baratheons

Very women centric episode

I know this just pisses some of you right off, too.

I don't mind it. But when you loo back it's a whole lot of women power type of movement.

Right, like I thought. What, have you not had enough brutal rape in the past six seasons? Should we amp that up to balance these uppity bitches? Or would all the beatings and rape take away from dem titties? Like that black one tonight who showed her arse? She got some black titties but she's one of dem good looking black girls.

Not buying that at all. No one on the show refers to her as Cersie Baratheon. Plus in the throne room she replaced the seven pointed star with a lion. After Roberts death all the Baratheon banner men sided with Stannis anyway so that doesn't explain it if you ask me.

Dany brought over a 100K Dothraki and their horses with her. So are they all still on the few ships she has left? Or are they somewhere on shore? She also made it clear she wanted to use Westerosi soldiers and her UnSullied but why bring over a massive Dortharki hoarde then?

I thought the episode was solid except for the Missendei and Grey Worm sex scene.

THIS! While those breasts were pretty damn impressive their story line is nothing but pointless filler. A waste of airtime.

As an aside, he was bitterly disappointed in Sam due to his perceived weakness. I think something Sam will do will undo that, and Sam will be restored as his heir before death.

Sams going to get in deep shite at the citadel when they find the book he stole and if they find out he cured jorah. It's game of thrones characters get punished for reckless choices.

I would also like an answer to this. Is Yara and everyone in that fleet so incompetent that Euron got in ramming range before anyone said anything or is this Euron magic?

They wouldn't have time for a warning. Why, because Yara's fleet was basically troopships. Laden heavy with troops. Lot's of troops makes ships slow and unmanueverable. Euron's fleet was much faster than Yara's, plus the fog as someone mentioned earlier. The troopships would have been sitting ducks for the flaming pitch that Euron's fleet was hurling onto their decks. Euron built a much larger ship than the normal iron born ships. He went straight for the flagship, Yara's vessel, while his fleet finished off Yara's troopships.

The only question I have, is why didn't Tyrion know adout Euron's fleet and make plans to counter it? Varas with his little birds had to know Euron was building a thousand ship fleet. You just don't miss something like that.

I was a little disappointed on the size of Balerion's skull. Thought it would be way bigger than that considering he was 200+ years old and dragons never stop growing.

My thoughts as well, but I'm okay with it. There are a few things that GRRM really struggles with. One of them is the size of everything.

The Varys scene was stupid. He pretty much said he would betray Dany if she didn't meet his standard. It's not like anyone is going to cry about Varys being killed. Every pre-WWII administration in history would have him killed, inprisoned, or forcibly resigned under constant government watch if they said such a thing.

You know I agree with a lot of what you say, but I have to disagree with you here. I liked that scene a lot. I know you said in the other thread it took you out of it, but you have to separate the book character from the show at this point.

I thought it did a great job of the following:

1. addressing a conversation that simply needed to occur (even if a little later than it should have happened)
2. reminding us of how the smallfolk get screwed in these wars and showing us at least someone is thinking of them
3. showing us why Dany, even though she has been far from a perfect Queen and has even shown the capability for cruelty at times, may actually be the ruler the Westeros needs.

Ehh.. Not really anymore, IMO. I agree that they should have replaced the stag with the lion sigil. It's obviously not a really big deal (no more than displaying 'Dorne' instead of 'Sunspear' in the opening credits), but I wish they went ahead and made the change anyways.

I'm not sure that being troopships gives you an excuse for not getting a warning out that enemy ships are inbound. As to the fog again is this the most convenient fog ever or Euron magic?

Also you raise a good question about the knowledge. Varys still has a spy network active, so why didn't he raise this? Maybe it happened too fast? Maybe Danny kills/imprisons him over this?
