Ok, just watched the episode.

Holy frick. What a finale.

Every scene was great...though the citadel scene seemed out of place pacingwise with the rest of the episode, it will surely pay off with Sam revealing something important or possibly meeting the dragon queen soon. She has a hand, but needs a Maester.

Cersei's plan was way more lethal than I expected. She wiped out so many people.

And motherfricking frey pie! lyanna stark and mormont, the fricking white wolf! King in da norf!

Holy shite I am pumped...to wait for 10 months. frick

Lady Mormont makes me want to grab a sword and start fighting people.

How hard is to figure out these events aren't happeing at the same time???

Apparently it is very hard. The whole series has spanned years in the people on the show's time. Myrcella and Tommen were children when the series began. They died in their mid to late teens.

Timelines/distance are one of the most convoluted things about Martin's books, not just the TV show. That's the main reason he split Feast of Crows and DoD the way he did, and one of the reasons it's taking him so long to finish the sixth book. He can't figure out how to make all his characters meet up logistically without there being plot holes bc he didn't have it plotted out from the beginning. He knows it's so big now that fans are going to discover and probably bitch about any errors.

The kids have grown in the show bc it's been seven years since some of the kids were cast and they hit puberty. Tommen they aged up bc they decided to include sex with Margaery as her manipulation of choice, in the books she manipulates him by basically replacing Cersei as his mother. Martin fricked up the ages of the kids when he wrote his first book, everyone is way too young for how he has them act, even in a messed up world like GoT.The show aged everyone up to be semi realistic. Jon is 17, Dany is 16, Sansa is 14, Arya is 12, and Bran 10. And those would be their ages as of Winds of Winter using liberal estimates, they might be younger.

Tl;dr; Don't blame the show, Martin didn't think through timelines and ages at all.

Yes...he should be. That was definitely a mistake by the showrunners, especially when Edmure Tully mentions that he has been a prisoner of the Freys "for years" since the events of the Red Wedding.

Sam should be at least 2-3 years old by this point in the show.

I want to say, I think Lady Mormont should be the Hand of the King of the North.

Here's why:

She's fierce as hell.
She has great judgement and common sense.
She is loyal to a fault.
She can tongue lash like I've never seen before.
She can motivate people.
She will be under estimated by people.
She cares about her people.

Did I miss anything? I'm sure I did.

On a side note. I got a serious Nero fiddles while Rome burns vibe. When the strings played as Cersei watched the Sept being engulfed in wild fire.

It would have made more sense to leave Varys in Dorne gathering allies and preparing the way for Daenerys. Also not have Frey get his until next season and have Arya getting off a ship to land on Westros...

Truthfully, I don't see it mentioned here either, but dragons aren't even real, and bringing people back from the dead... Puh-leaseeeeeeee

The way you guys nitpick certain facts about realism is quite annoying.

My only issue with varys is that Dany should want his arse dead. He hired Jorah to spy on her and tried to kill her twice.

Well he is inbred isn't he? May can chalk that up to Caster genes.

This was about as perfect of an episode so far. Not even going to try and nitpick. The only disappointmwents:

-The girl Arya used as a disguise will not get naked

-no more margaery

Yo, Sansa is totally going to whack Littlefinger. She knows firsthand what he is capable of via: Joeffry, Ser Dontos, Lysa Aryn, and John Aryn. Now that she's had a taste of blood, she's ready to take out the trash.

She might have Brienne do it, she might do it herself, she might turn LF into Cersei for Joffery's murder.

Of course Lady Olenna might rat out Littlefinger to Cersei since she has zero reason to be allies with Cersei now.

I liked what someone posted on here the other day, that she will turn Sweetrobin against LF by telling him how his mother really died.
