Targaryen's were notorious for polygamy. More specifically, having multiple sister-wives. For instance, Aegon the Conqueror had two sister-wives, Visenya and Rhaenys. Their heir was Aenys Targaryen by Rhaenys (the younger sister-wife). Viseyna, the older sister-wife, never bore any children. Maegor the Cruel had six wives at one point or another, wedding three women at once in one ceremony.
Maegor was Visenya's son

We have no indication that the NK is even a fighter. He just summons the dead to protect him and the other frozen folk. He always watches from afar, from what I remember.
dragon glass arrow to his chest should do the trick, right?

I think that the Others are totally bound to the Night's King, and if he's killed, all this may end.

You're right. I'll go back and correct.

Nope: Aegon - Jon

Wait, why can't he have the throne whether he wants it or not?
Becuase Dany wants it too and she has an army of 100K+, Highgarden, half the Greyjoys, Dorne, and most importantly 3 dragons backing her up. She's not going let Jon take it even if he has a better claim than her.

I don't think gods exist in the world, only magic. Kind of like how superstition was our first explanation for science and medicine, those in the world of ASoFaI created gods to explain magic and those that can use it.
I agree. Several disparate religions or groups have tapped into it for things like prophecy, resurrection, warding off spells, warging, face changing, etc. I dont think there will be one "true religion".
On a different note - do any of you who know a little science know if a planet that has seasons that follow each other in a regular pattern but for wildly varying lengths of time is feasible?

Maybe Rhaegar had the forethought to legally document it in a safe place so he sent the record via raven to Oldtown way back in the day?

Yeah, she's got the edge on him indubitably.

I've thought of the GoT "Winter" as some version of an Ice Age.

I'm no science expert...and I unfortunately did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night...but i saw Interstellar. Planets act weird when they are near to black holes. That was just tides and stuff tho. I don't know.
I'll leave you with this profound quote:
"People don't think the universe be like it is...but it do."

Yeah but our world doesn't have ice ages every few years. There summers also last several years. GoT's seasons could be influenced by magic somehow but I don't how any planet can realisticly have seasons that last for years on end.

The Maesters aren't all that trusted. Tons of people in the Kingdoms hate them, and with men like Pycelle it's no wonder. I'd trust the Iron Bank with it well before the Maesters.

Indeed, I would be concerned about trustworthiness also. This is why it is fun to speculate. How many other stories are out there that are unfinished and have so many unanswered questions? It's fun trying to put the clues together over the years.

How hard is it for people to grasp that all of these events aren't happening at exactly the same time? Is it really necessary to comment that "omgersh littlefinger/varys/arya" travelled here or there in 1 scene.
No they didn't, some storylines are lengthened or shortened for the purposes of fricking television.
Just the same way Olenna in Dorne didn't hear about her whole family dying the second it happened, it's understood time had passed.
Preach.

A safety deposit box at the Iron Bank would be pretty cool to have.

Most planets operate this way.
