The finale was full of anti-religious themes
Exactly. Jon is done with religion, I think. He said so himself. When he died, there was nothing. He's not going to kill/sacrifice someone out of a religious prophecy. Everything he does from here out is going to be to protect good/destroy evil, in his world.

Rhaegar was married to Elia they never stopped being married. Jon is and will always be a bastard.
As brought up many times before he could have taken Lyanna as his 2nd wife. There's nothing to show if they have been married or not yet. But the important thing is Jon's a Targ. It really doesn't matter if he's a bastard or not because he can't have the throne whether he wants it or not (which he probably doesn't).

Wait, why can't he have the throne whether he wants it or not?

Now He is definitely fire resistant.

No it's not at all. How is this a thing?
Targaryen's were notorious for polygamy. More specifically, having multiple sister-wives. For instance, Aegon the Conqueror had two sister-wives, Visenya and Rhaenys. Their heir was Aenys Targaryen by Rhaenys (the younger sister-wife). Viseyna, the older sister-wife, gave birth to the next in line, Maegor the Cruel.
Maegor the Cruel had six wives at one point or another, wedding three women at once in one ceremony.
ETA: If Rhaegar's children with Elia are truly dead (no fAegon on the show) then Jon is the heir if he married Lyanna.

This is going to end up being the longest thread on TD.

Which is ironic considering g he's basically the fulfillment of multiple Westerosi religions prophecies.
I saw it somewhere else but I'm betting Mel comes back at some for some reason and insists Jon execute her with a sword through the chest, fulfilling the Nissa Nissa - Azhor Azhai parallel.

At first blush, I think he probably doesn't want it. But when he finds out what Ceresi has done and his lineage, that could be a whole different ballgame.

Arya is still the character I have the least idea on where her story is going. I don't think she kills Cersei, and I see no value that Arya could have back in the North. The only thing I'm fairly certain of is she won't have a happy ending.
I'm terrified she either kills Jon at the end or is killed by Jon prior to the end while she's disguised-- its seems like such a GRRM "frick you" thing to have the price of her vengeance be destroying or being destroyed by the person in her family she's closest to, also adds on to the Jon is the ultimate victor but at the cost of everything and everyone he will ever love just to win something he has never wanted theme.

Which is why I don't think it will happen.
And Jon himself "knows" there is nothing after. He's been there, done that, got the t-shirt (well, scars).

She's closest to Jon he's the last person she'd kill. She'd kill Sansa before Jon. She will die by the end though. And it will indubitably suck.

I'm seeing this possibility, too, or something similar. She says, "I'm guilty of capital offenses according to your laws. I humbly request to be killed in" whatever manner she decides will produce the desired result.
The respectable thing will be she is putting her money where her mouth is.
It's also possible that after reconnecting with Beric (and Thoros) that it has to be him or whatever (he sacrifices himself to bring Cat back in the books, so that would be a parallel sacrifice.)

Why would she kill John?

I don't think gods exist in the world, only magic. Kind of like how superstition was our first explanation for science and medicine, those in the world of ASoFaI created gods to explain magic and those that can use it.

Right. Yes. ...indubitably.

Jon doesn't give a shite about Mel, especially now, so there's no real sacrifice for him.

I just think he's going to come across some key information that helps defeat the Night's King. Why would the Citadel have a copy of Rhaegar's marriage license to Lyanna? Seems much more likely to be in the Crypts or with Howland Reed.
