I thought this was the book reader thread?

This pisses me off the most. What the frick is the point, now?
I've long come to terms with it, but I can't deny that I'm a bit bitter about it. Over everything, I think it drastically changes Varys character and his motives. If I had to take a guess, at the end of WoW, Aegon will rule the South through Varys, Sansa will rule the North through LF, and Dany will be the outlier with Tyrion. So in the end, I think it's really coming down to Varys vs LF vs Tyrion more so than any of the kings/queens.

So much for the "no flashback" rule.
I'm guessing Tormund took over for bones/Mance.
they sure looked at each other alot, and Tormund almost broke down, seemed to remember himself, and Jon let fly.

Now try and stop from binging on the next 3 episodes.

The Cersei flashback is really the only thing I found interesting about this episode
I'd give it a 6.5/10, and around 5 of that 6.5 is just because the show is back

Who was it that wanted the pointless Lancel buttstuff?
wasn't pointless, pretty important to the plot

It's possible. I'd be surprised by it but it wouldn't be outside of the realm of possibility.

Martin knows what these guys are changing, if it was something drastic and not just some bullshite he added in the books to frick with us then I'm sure he would stop them. I see it as them streamlining the plot points, because there's no fricking way they could include everything from the books. Let's be honest

Yes, this season. Sansa already has pretty much

Sad that Tyrion won't be riding pigs.

My worst fears appear to be true. We'll get spoiled and learn the ending through a glossed over version of the story. And the show watchers will gets boring condensed version with plot holes and without knowing why things are happening.
I wouldn't have a problem with the changing it up if they didn't make the show boring and adding meaningless characters while leaving out awesome characters.
Everybody wants them to cut out all this stuff from affc and aDwD because "they're boring books". Yet D&D replace epic story lines for their own boring shite. As a reader it's very frustrating

I enjoyed it but it's very apparent at this point that the book and show are two different mediums and it's going to be treated as such.
Granted, I've seen the first 4 episodes, but this is the line of thought I'd take from this point forward. The book and the show have now gone in radically different directions. The only storyline that's roughly going on the same course is Cersei's.

I've read the books, and I'm following it fine. They're condensing it, which has to happen to make it work. These books are so fricking complex that there's no way you could introduce all of the characters and storylines and still have a coherent show/plot. Think about it, there's no way it would work as it does in the books.

If it took you until tonight's premiere to figure this out, I'm not real sure what to tell you.

And about the preview. A threat towards Myrcella? Really?
I agree that this has pissed me off. As vengeful and fricked up as Oberyn was, he'd never support murdering an innocent girl just because of what her family did. Completely out of character for the Dornish, especially after what happened to Elia and her children.

frick the fat man. If he's told them the ending to his narrative and they don't include Griff, the story line alters to much. The split becomes to large and the book readers are going to end with a putrid taste in their mouth on both accounts. Stop eating fat man and write.
Eta: and the dornish threat is crap.
Yeah, I'm mad.
Etaa: yeah, I'm still mad too.
