I didn't think it was bad, honestly. I'll hold out on judging the changes to Sansa going North especially

I may be in the minority but this premier was very meh to me. I hope they didn't kill Mance for good.

Boring arse episode. Pretty much nothing happened

Well Mance died so that's something

That doesn't count. That invented character already existed.

So I'm guessing that was the real Mance since Rattleshirt has been a no show in a while
And I must say, that was probably my least favorite of all the season premieres. Barely held my interest

I enjoyed it but it's very apparent at this point that the book and show are two different mediums and it's going to be treated as such.
In the context of the show I thought it was a good premiere. In the context of the books, I'm not a fan of the changes but at the same time the writers have eliminated things to the point that they've kind of put themselves in a situation to have that many changes.

I thought this was the book reader thread?

How I feel. The only time I was on edge was when Dany was in the pits going to her dragons. I wouldn't be surprised to see the show's quality take a significant hit now that they're going so far away from the books.
And about the preview. A threat towards Myrcella? Really? That's how they're justifying sending Jaime to Dorne? Give me a break. I hope the rest of the season isn't as "meh" as the premier was.

It is. Or did you miss out on a pretty big twist in the books?

Lol at everyone saying it was meh

The Mance/Jon dialogue salvaged an otherwise boring episode. I really hope this is the major setup episode for the season.

This shows formula has become bunch of BS for 53 minutes and then a "bombshell" at the last minute.

South Park was right.

This pisses me off the most. What the frick is the point, now?
I've long come to terms with it, but I can't deny that I'm a bit bitter about it. Over everything, I think it drastically changes Varys character and his motives. If I had to take a guess, at the end of WoW, Aegon will rule the South through Varys, Sansa will rule the North through LF, and Dany will be the outlier with Tyrion. So in the end, I think it's really coming down to Varys vs LF vs Tyrion more so than any of the kings/queens.
