I wish Littlefinger didn't use that creepster mccreepster voice in the show, it's awful. Other than that, I loved the episode.

That and the fact that just listening to her talk piss me off. The fact that she thinks of herself as the single smartest and greatest person who has ever lived and then just says and does ridiculously stupid things, like crucifying all the Wise Masters. Dany doesn't think shite through any more than Cersei and heeds her advisors advice just about as much. This goes for Book Dany as well. I can't wait for Tyrion to come in and rip her ridiculously inflated ego apart.

(Oh, also aside from the fact that I think that's how Lloras got fricked up - in storming Aegon stronghold).

It was when taking Dragonstone from Stannis' troops

I still think there's a chance he will be in it - maybe Griff and Young Griff will be the means of Tyrion and Varys travelling towards Danny.

I was thinking, if Aegon really is just another Blackfyre pretender, maybe Varys is using him to give Dany a reason to finally invade Westeros. She can expose him as a pretender.

What makes you think she will listen to Tyrion? She has not listened to nobler people. Tyrion is kinslayer from the family that betrayed her father. I guess killing his father could be seen as a positive but she is too dense

And the Jorah betrayal is about to happen which will make her more hardened to advice from others. If it is Jorah that brings Tyrion back (in the book), it will be interesting to see how she reacts to both.

Dude, I'll have to re - watch this ep to be sure, but I could've sworn Olyvar named some houses in Dorne, said SunSpear, then whiffed at another Dornish seat name and Loras corrected him saying, "SandStone"
Don't think D&D would change Martell seat like that.

If you're right, I'm pissed too.

ETA: and you are so right about leaving out valonqar in the First and Only flashback...and we never got a TOJ flash from Ned!!
A total WTF moment. Imo.

The fact that he's a Lannister, is incredibly cunning, & wants nothing more than to seek revenge against his sister are pretty good reasons...

What did I miss about the young kid at The Wall? What purpose does he serve? Is this supposed to be Aegon?

Because no one has really told Dany the truth ever. Jorah, while he has given her good council, has given her a shaded worldview in many ways for her to feel protected by him, and Barristan is too big of a wuss to tell Dany the truth. Everyone else is ignorant or using her.

Tyrion knows everything Dany needs to win the Iron Throne, and Barristan and Jorah will reluctantly say that Tyrion is telling the truth about everything. I can definitely foresee in the book when they first meet about the Usurper dogs rising up against her father and how Ned betrayed her father, and then Tyrion calling out Jorah and Barristan for not telling her the truth on what actually happened.

My bet on the Aegon/Griff/Young Griff storyline from the books is that it will be eliminated in the show. In the premiere, during Varys and Tyrion's conversation about the ideal ruler for Westeros, Tyrion makes a comment about needing good luck to find HIM. Varys replies, "Who said anything about HIM?" This leads be to believe that in the show, Varys is already supporting Daenerys, thereby eliminating an "unnecessary" plot from the books.

That hypothetical chapter (which I think will happen) is the only chapter I'd actually want from Dany's POV.

Is it impossible to say that I enjoyed the show and was underwhelmed at the same time without the show lovers lighting their torches? Yes, it's still cooler than just about everything on TV, but I just can't understand abandoning something better in the books to fill with something not nearly as profound. It's like having a cheat sheet and missing answers on purpose.

Cersei flashback was atrocious. They might as well have kept to their no flashback rule rather than destroy this scene as badly as they did. No mention of Valonqar and they don't include her friend dying as proof of the witch's power. It was a flashback to show that Cersei was told her husband would be unfaithful and she would have 3 incetuous children. OMG!!!!

The scene with Lancel following was pretty brilliant. Lena is one of my favorites on this show and she was absolutely on point. Looking forward to her scenes with the HS.

I loved everything at the Wall. Was I the only one who noticed Rattleshirt standing right next to Tormund? I think it's entirely possible that Mance could still be alive, but that change won't hurt my feelings much. Jon/Mance/Stannis were all on point and made the episode. The fire scene was straight out of Last of the Mohicans, but was still great. I really think the Wall is where this season's greatness will take place along with Braavos.

Dany was on par with the books. We get 10 minutes of Loras Tyrell in bed with a random dude describing a birthmark but we can't talk about the Valonqar. bullshite. As far as Aegon and that enitre storyline, I am upset that we won't get to see it because I think he is Blackfyre and love Blackfyre history. But I am almost certain that he isn't a true end player as you don't introduce the series champion in book 5. I'm looking forward to next weeks episode as I think the show, largely Jaime, can improve upon Dorne. Through 3 reads, I can honestly say it's the only storyline that has bored me to sleep. High hopes for next week. Thinking Arya scenes are going to be off the charts.

Yeah Varys already told Tyrion when they got to Essos that he was backing the Targaryens. They'll just roll with Dany and more people will bitch about not having fAegon.

The fact that Daenerys is a petulant child who has no business ruling anything is a good reason as to why she won't listen to him.
