so when the credits of episode ten roll and there is no purple wedding will y'all believe me or are we going to have to wait till the blu ray is released to make sure they don't have this quick two minute event in the special features or deleted scenes

This.

But seriously, I'm not completely convinced either way, but they could use most of this next episode to set most of the PW stuff up. Pig duels don't need any set up. They just need to show it. It doesn't take much to know that Tyrion would be insulted by it.

Out of curiousity, how do you see each storyline wrapping up this season?

Here's where I see the stopping point for the main characters:

Dany: Freed slaves calling her mother as she rides by them.
Jon: Arriving at Castle Black.
Bran: Warging into Hodor
Sam: Being saved by coldhands
Stannis/Davos: Davos rescues Gendry and/or receives a letter from the Night's Watch.
King's Landing: Purple Wedding
Catelyn: Her body either being discovered by Nymeria or Beric Dondarrion.

All those things can happen within the next 2 episodes without feeling rushed.

That makes a lot of sense. I guess looking forward even further to next season, the PW is about 4-5 episodes in and Tywin getting killed would be the big episode 9 event, you think?

did anyone notice that old POS Pycelle flirting with one of the serving girls at the wedding? It was very subtle.

I was thinking we could post it in the Middle Ground thread once Season 3 ends.

Highly doubt it. They just need to build it up over the course of Season 4. Cat rising that suddenly will just serve as a way to make the non-readers less shocked about the Red Wedding. They need a long time away from Cat in order to truly get the full feel of that.

Bran and Sam: Bran goes north and Sam reaches the Nightfort.

Agree its too soon to show Uncat, but I do think they'll show Wolf-Arya pulling her out of the river (and possibly Dondarrion and Thoros approaching). I mean the episode is named "Mother."

I know .

Also, there's a lengthy discussion in the nonreader thread about why Cersei wears long sleeves/if its because of Lena Headey and her trashy tattoos she has everywhere now. One poster said it would cost too much money snd CGI to cover them . Couldn't makeup cover them up perfectly fine?

I'm trying to remember the last episodes of season 1 and season 2 to get an idea for how they handle them. Seems like they use them almost as an epilogue to kind of regroup from the big events that occur in week 9 of each season. And then end on a cliffhanger of some sort.

The main reason I sometimes lean to the PW in week 10 is to avoid ticking off too many non reader show watchers with a "bad guys always win" vibe. But really, Rob doesn't seem to be well loved at all among the non readers. And that bitch Cat is not much better regarded I think. So they might not need the PW this year.

The other reasons deal with more practical issues - is is better to round up the extras/set to film two weddings in the same place and 3 all together in one season? Is it viable to bring Jack Gleeson back to play Joffrey for one episode next year?

Beside her walk of shame in ADWD when was she ever naked? I don't know what they are complaninng about. OTOH, Headey looked great naked in 300.

The last 2 seasons had major events take place in episode 9 (Ned's beheading & Blackwater) and use the finale as a set up for future events. But that's also pretty much how the books were set up.

The show gets to pick it's end point this season, so it could handle the finale anyway they want.

Well, to be honest I didn't particularly like either of them in the books either. It was more "Arya getting hit in the head with an axe" that made me throw my book across the room.

Robb was fine in the books because he didn't have a pov, had we been stuck reading his crap plan and see him fricking up the war with jeyne we would have been waiting on his demise as well
