I can't remember if he wanted to try that but Randall forbid it or what in the books.

His father said no one with his surname would ever be a maester. He also told him to take the black or he would suffer a "hunting accident."

Sam was a coward but his dad was definitely a dick

Randall Tarly is a notable warrior and certified badass from what I can tell. He was not going to suffer some fat pussy songsinger to inherit his house.

Becoming a Maester would have been equally shameful according to him. Taking the black or death during a "pig hunt" were Sam's 2 options.

I took it that Randall thought that Maesters were servants. The chain represented their slavery to their lords. He thought that it was beneath anyone in his family to become one.

Was just coming to post that they did a good job casting the Frey women.

The one character I think the show didn't do justice to was Roose Bolton. In the book he is a creepy son of a bitch that is cold and owns every scene he is in, especially when Arya is his cup bearer. In the show he is just kind of there.
Yes, for what's about to happen, the portrayal of roose is so underdone.

I'm beginning to wonder if some of the Hodors are actully non-Hodors in disguise. Someone is now calling that both Robb and Joffrey die soon.

Even if there are some bastards posting spoilers disguised as guesses, none of the readers should comment on those posts as that would only confirm the spoiler to the real Hodors by drawing attention to it.

Well it was spelled out in the show. Mel does magic to kill someone they die.

ETA: I was impressed they picked it up

I was just wondering if maybe the RW won't come off as much of a shock to them as it did to many of us.

I think that the biggest shock for them coming up will be when Tywin bites it. How far away do y'all think that is? Is it the end of season 4?

It will be next season after the PW. I think it will be mid season.

That's what makes me think there are readers in disguise over there. The regular Hodor posters have been remarkably dense for most of the season and all of a sudden there are people paying attention. Makes me suspicious.

There seems to be double meanings often used, like "the climb" had to do with jon snow and those guys climbing the wall but also the exchange between varys and little finger and the climb up the ladder of power and influence.

I hope your right, Joffrey has got to go. I agree with your sentiment, both are probably about to go whether its this season or next, they both have too many enemies and not enough friends. I think Tywinn may meet his end relatively soon as well, his own family is beginning to despise him.

I think so as well.

On a bit of a different topic, anyone think the wedding between LLoris and Cersei won't happen? I mean the sansa/tyrion marriage was not liked by either party but Lloris has no interest in women and Cersei has been down this road already. Idk just wonder if something will happen there

The posts are exactly the way I would word things if I were trying to pose as a non-reader. I mean I find it hard to believe that someone would guess from the show that Robb, Joffrey, and Tywin would die in the next two seasons. Especially Tywin.

Definitely comes across as a closet reader and its a real dick move if so. But to be honest my symphathy for the people in that thread is pretty limited because of the attitude they display at times.

he's definitely a reader:

quote:

Or with the next episode being number 9 and Rob marching to the Twins perhaps Frey will have the lannisters there to do the deed. My thinking is like this:

If you guys are right and the wife is a spy, they know Rob is lacking men now, they know he wouldn't return to the twins after betraying Frey unless he were very desperate. If I am the lannisters I get word to Frey that taking out Rob would be rewarded quite handsomely. Lannisters need to eliminate Rob as a threat and also to take the north thru the marriage with sansa. Frey is already pissed at Rob so just give a little encouragement and that there you have it.

Thoughts?

This is the one that makes me really suspicious. The other two could be guessed pretty easily since the leech thing in the last episode. There has been no real suggestions as to Tywin though. And to guess all three of them... Something smells fishy.
