Yeah I think he's full of shite because regardless of whether Ned would have believed him, he could have told his story and got his name cleared a long time ago. But he chooses this moment in the tub to come clean? Pretty convenient timing because Brienne said she still didn't trust him right before he told the story.

Very plausible. I think we want to believe Jamie is somewhat decent and will be all buddy buddy with Brieene. But when it comes down to it, he'll probably stab her in the back (pun intended).

Random question if anyone wants to answer without spoiling anything.....in story time, it's been what, a month or two, maybe longer, since Winterfell was burned, and the Iron Islanders were chased off. Why is Robb not all "hey Roose, where the frick is your bastard with Theon, so I can execute his arse?" I get that he's got a lot on his plate right now, but you'd think he'd want an update on that situation.

I think you guys are stretching a bit with the scales. Looks like a burn to me and considering how much stannis has had to do with the lord of light...

I've wondered about him before based on things he's said, but then he just said "she's written in the books that way.." so I wanted to ask him directly. If so, then he's in the wrong thread.

I read the first book. But finally caught up last night on the show.

Does that classify me as a reader if I truly don't know where the plot is going?

When I watched the episode again last night, it looked like dull dead skin when she was in her dark room but then when she stepped into the candle light talking to onion knight it really did look like dragon scales!

Unfortunately you fall into incredibly grey/ambiguous area of "Yes you are a reader but no you don't know whats going to happen."

I've read the first book. I post in here an just don't saying anything about the books.

People don't understand that's there's literally nothing from the first book that gives you any idea of future things. It gives you alittle more detail of some characters and in my opinion gives you clues to form a couple theories that haven't come up and won't come up for awhile IMO.

Finally caught up last night and need to re-watch. Tougher time than usual understanding some of the conversations.

But mainly, I'm surprised you didn't go off the deep end when Jon hooked up with that trash bag whore. Or were you as pleasantly surprised with her arse as the rest of us?

I'm not happy about it!! It pains me to say she looked better than I thought she would for a dirty redhead. I'm convinced this was just a one time thing and he only did it to make the wildlings think he is one of them by breaking his vows.

I'm bored so I think I'm gonna rewatch the episode again and see if I can transcribe Jamie's convo, and maybe Jorah's convo with the old man knight.

Seems like you're kinda in the middle....like in the same camp as tebow. I know he tries not to inject book shite (even if just the first) into this thread. I was just wondering based on things that you've said and then your "in the books" comment. No big deal.

Just think, on the bridge he was trying to kill her and get away. They get captured, then all of a sudden he cares about her? Not buying it, I think he's just trying to gain her trust so he can exploit her somehow.

Why do book people even bother clicking on this thread? Do they have zero self control?

IDGAF what book it was - just stay out unless you can control your urges to win the interwebz with GOT "knowledge" and impress message board people.

It's like dealing with children. The word "book" should be stricken from the damn thread

Jaime has decided to stop feeling sorry for himself. However, there is that little problem of losing his primary sword hand. He needs a new sword hand. Since he has seen her superior swordfighting skills, his new sword hand will be Brienne. That's what he's working toward. Even if he has to make sexy time with her.

This was my favorite part of the whole episode just because we finally got to hear his side of the story and he managed to make me feel sorry for him. I tried to type it just how the subtitled had it.
(J gets in water with B)
J: don't worry, I'm not interested. If i faint, pull me out. I don't intend to be the first Lannister to die in the bathtub.
B: Why do I care if you die?
J: you swore a solumn vow, remember? you were supposed to get me to Kings Landing in one piece. Not going so well is it? No wonder Renley died with you guarding him.
(B stands up to smack him with her penis)
J: that was unworthy. forgive me. you protected me better than most.
B: don't you mock me
J:I'm apologizing. I'm sick of fighting. Let's call a truce.
B: you need trust to have a truce
J: I trust you
(B sits back down and looks away annoyed)
J: there it is. that's the look i've seen for 17 yrs on face after face. you all despise me. kingslayer. oathbreaker. man without honor.
(J stares at his nub)
J: you've heard of wildfire?
(B stares at a piece of lint in the tub)
B: Of course
J: The Mad King was obsessed with it. he loved to watch people burn, the way their skin blackened and blistered and melted off their bones. He burned Lords he didn't like, Hands who disobeyed him, he burned anyone who was against him. Before long, half the country was against him. Aerys saw traitors everywhere. So he had his Pyromancer place caches of wildfire all over the city. beneath the Sept of Baelor, the slums of fleabottom, under houses, stables, taverns, even beneath the Red Keep itself.
(B is staring at him now)
J: Finally, the day of reckoning came. Robert Baratheon marched on the capital after his victory at the Trident. But my father arrived first with the whole Lannister army at his back, promising to defend the city against the rebels. I knew my father better than that. He's never been one to pick the losing side. I told the Mad King as much and I urged him to surrender peacefully. But the King did not listen to to me. He didn't listen to Varys who tried to warn him. But he did listen to Grand Maester Pycelle. That grey sunken count. "You can trust the Lannister's," he said, "The Lannisters have always been true friends to the crown". So we opened the gates and my father sacked the city. Once again I came to the King begging him to surrender. He told me to bring him my father's head. Then he turned to his Pyromancer, "Burn them all," he said. "Burn them in their homes, burn them in their beds". Tell me, if your precious Renley commanded you to kill your own father and stand by while thousands of men, women and children burned alive, would you have done it? Would you have kept your oath then? First I killed the Pyromancer. And then when the King turned to flee, I drove my sword into his back. "Burn them all", he kept saying. "Burn them all."
(B is staring at him alarmed)
J: I don't think he expected to die. He meant to burn with the rest of us and rise again reborn as a dragon to turn his enemies to ashes. I slit his throat to make sure that didn't happen. That's where Ned Stark found me.
B: If this is true...why didn't you tell anyone? Why didn't you tell anyone?
J: Stark...You think the honorable Ned Stark wanted to hear my side? He judged me guilty the moment he set eyes on me. By what right does the wolf judged the lion?
(J lunges towards B)
J: By what right!
(B lunges towards J to catch him)
B: Help! Help! The Kingslayer!
J: Jamie. My name is Jamie

the point was he read the first book.

Reading the first book gives you no leg up at all to what is going on right now

Book one is Season 1 like exactly. Just explains some characters a little more just so you can get an idea of what they look like and how they act

there is not a damn thing I could predict that will happen in the coming weeks that would be because I read the books. I have no clue at all whats going to happen. If you have read book three and more than yeah but book one has no benefit to this season
