If Martin were smart, he would drop his next book now. A lot of people who hadn't read the others would get it just to see where Jon is at.

I read where he has 200 pages of manuscript done, and his books are usually 1000 pages of manuscript

So him being smart doesn't have much to do with it

This about sums it up. If he stays dead, I am done with the books and show. This is the first time I actually want a major spoiler before I read/watch something. I am not investing anymore time or emotions into a story and its world in which they leave us, the readers/viewers, without any hope or chance at payoff. When you kill off all the heroes, especially the one that was most developed to be the star, you exhaust your audience and lose them. I still think he will be resurrected and return as the prince that was promised, but I will know for certain before continuing the journey.

Agreed on all accounts. My wife hasn't watched the finale yet, but I told her unless something comes out from behind the scenes before the next season starts that I'm done with the show. She was shocked because I'm the one that got her into the show, but I told her you'll see what I mean when you watch it. Such shite writing if his death holds true.

I read this too. But it might have been 200 pages in "book length" IIRC. Either way, he's taking his fricking time. Which is typical GRRM.

the jail scene with bronn was absolutely pointless (even though people tried to claim it would be significant)

It did set up the bitch poisoning Myrcella.

Damn it looked like a much bigger disparity than that

Stannis was only at like 1/3 strength. He could've wrecked shop if he didn't get abandoned

Keep in mind that Stannis' forces were on foot while Bolton's were on horseback, increasing the disparity greatly.

Of course he is dead. He's not lying. Everyone agrees with this. The question is... Does he stay dead?

The question isn't whether or not Kit is lying about being dead, the question is whether or not he is lying about not coming back next season (which is what Kit said).

Sounds like an interesting premise. Let us know how that works out for you.

They sat me down and said, “This is how it is.” If anything in the future is not like that, then I don’t know about it – it’s only in David and Dan and George’s heads. But I’ve been told I’m dead. I’m dead. I’m not coming back next season. So that’s all I can tell you, really.

I'm just trying to brace everyone for the 0.0001% chance that Kit didn't lie, and that he doesn't return next year.

When Jon was killed, where was Ghost?

I know he wasn't there and their was a specific reason, but I can't recall what it was.

The Queen's guards' horses were upset, or he was eating the wildlings livestock?

In the book, didn't Ghost sense the impending betrayal, and Jon either locked him up?

You may be thinking of Greywind and Robb, but it's been a long time since I read. Bottom line: ALWAYS PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR DIREWOLF!!!

Grey Wind knew it was coming, not sure about Ghost. He was locked up, but I can't recall the reason.
