I'm a smart guy and don't need to be spoon fed but as a non book reader about 40% of the second and third eps are just a complete mystery. No idea WTF is happening.

Do you have HBOGo by any chance? If you do watch it with the interactive features. They point out who is who, give little refreshers (not spoiler) and other good info that could help out.

Example of what it looks like:

The Arya and Theon plot lines are confusing the shite out of me.

Arya is wondering around with the Brothers Without Banners.

Theon escaped whoever captured him at Winterfell. Whoever captured him sent riders to ride him down, and the mysterious helper his sister sent killed off the riders who were chasing him.

I agree, but i think this thread in a season long format would help.

I'm sure I'm one of those, but I don't take kindly to getting personally called out in an OP when I haven't done shite to bring it on. But that's neither here nor there at this point.

Arya is now with the Brotherhood without banners.

In Season 1 Ned Stark sent lord Beric dondarrion to take down the mountain who was raiding lands in that area. Beric failed and most of his men were killed. The ones that remained set up shop in that part of the country and now fight to protect the small folk.

You're just going to have to keep watching theon

I know its strange, but their development involves drastic changes in their lives. You see this already. It takes awhile for the changes to start happening. They are all over, but it has a point.

To be fair, I think it will be hard to capture this in a television setting where you cannot get inside a character's thoughts like a POV book. I think the writers and producers of the series have a tough task with both of these characters.

I did this the other day for the first time and found it very helpful as far as refreshing my memory on certain plot points.

Also helped cuz I wasn't trying to post while watching it there. I think that's where I often derail.

ETA:

Bluegrass - I don't lump you in with the a-hole element. If anything - You are "overly helpful" fwiw.

It's probably not needed on a weekly basis, but as a season long thread I think it'd fix alot of the problems with this board and this show.

I serve the board. Think of me as Varys, but with balls. I can make the thread weekly or make this thread season long. I just need to know the board's wishes.

You may be alone but thanks.

And FWIW, I know what it's like to watch the show not having read the books. It's how I watched the first season. I guess that's why I don't get not welcoming some input from readers. They helped me figure some things out in terms of houses and such. Then eventually I just picked up the books.

Probably an issue for many folks watching the show. Given the amount of details they have to cram in it's not the best show for trying to multitask and catch everything.

Don't feel too badly, there's lots to have to follow. When reading the books and I would start a chapter that was about a totally different character I would have to think for a minute about what they were doing last.

Feel free to ask about specific folks and most of us will try to answer in as non-spoiler a way as possible.

I'm always happy to see Ghost or any of the direwolves. Good to know they aren't cgi. They are using real wolves and then scaling them up in size by 50%.

Dude that shite was going to drive me crazy...It sounded so familiar I couldn't put my finger on it...I didn't see it in the credits either and google was no help...I've never listened to "The Hold Steady" so I definitely would of gone crazy...

Whose voice does that guy sound like?...I thought it was Lucero for a second...shite just has a real familiar Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt sound...

now that is good info

But seriously, the non-readers need to pay more attention during the show. I can understand some confusion but not knowing the stark/direwolf connection?
