There are people bitching about the Jaime/Brienne plotline in the other thread.
I really want to post in there "Well you're going to hate next season" but I'm refraining.

why do these guys in the illiterate thread think Loras Tyrell would be one of the 3 men who could take Jamie. Did the show not make it clear how he cheated to unseat The Mountain in the joust?

and not to mention, even if Loras could take Jamie, Jamie would never admit someone like Loras could beat him.

He was definitely referring to Barristan and the two Cleganes. Although, I think Oberyn Martel would have been a tough matchup for anyone. (Also the Dornish Captain of the Guard seems pretty tough.)
Quick question on Jaqen: When he changed his face, was it a spell/glamour, or did he take off a skin mask with a quick, practiced move that looked like magic?

Loras is significantly more skilled in the books than TV Show. He's pretty damn good for his age.
Jaime wouldn't give the Cleganes that kind of respect. I would think Selmy and maybe Oberyn Martell would be on his radar.

He is very skilled in the books, but he's strictly a tourney knight. He's never proven himself in battle. Jaime and Barristan are famous as tourney knights but are also proven soldiers.

When does the brienne/Jamie sword fight happen in the books?
Posted on 5/21/12 at 1:28 pm to CE Tiger
Its shortly after the escape. Sooooo. . . , next week?

Loras proves his worth in the battle that is coming. Also, he is said to be very skilled in the joust. Even though he did cheat to beat the Mountain, he did unhorse Jamie once too.

Wasn't the escape itself in SoS? I'm thinking CoK ended with Catelyn asking Brienne for her sword.

You don't need to say stuff like this IMO. I'm not trying to be a jerk and it isn't a spoiler per se, but I think you should avoid hints such as these.
Meh. If you read the post I originally replied to, it wasn't even remotely hinting at anything other than Martin's storylines tie together and that people should make note of that. Once I figured that out in the books it made for a pretty fulfilling experience, paying attention to the little things and taking note.
It'd be totally different if I was like, "you're wrong, it's a big fricking deal.". People are far, far too sensitive about this.

Anyone can. I'm not saying Goat doesn't make it, but it doesn't matter who does it.

Jaime wants Loras as Tommen's trainer by AFFC. He said numerous times that Loras reminded him of himself at that age.

This is true. Cerci flipped a lid. He took Dragonstone too.
