will there be a chain i wonder? and will they give tyrion his scar? i was thinking itd be a hassel to keep doing that every episode now.
i wonder if they will explain varys castration. i thought it was a cool insight of the dark magic going on in the world.

And what ever happened to this guy?
And a related question, will we get to see us some Strong Belwas?
Unfortunately, the answer from WinterisComing.net is...
quote:
Strong Belwas: Another fan favorite character who, like the Blackfish, could face the ultimate cut. Although he is also a colorful and distinct character, he really doesn’t serve a purpose in the story (Vargo has a pretty large role to play). He could still make it in for season three, but if I had to make a wager, I would say he’s out.

I am very interested in watching how they are going to handle the blackwater scene, especially budget wise. To give a lot of things justice going forward, the producers are going to have to shell out a lot more money than they have been doing.
I think this season has been kind of underwhelming but I think thats mainly bc we were somewhat spoiled in season 1 with how good and refreshing it was.

Maybe they have been saving money on some of this season's earlier episodes so they have it for the Blackwater scenes. I can hope at least.

I think I saw someone post they spent 17 mil on the battle episode by itself. So about 1/5 of the budget on one episode probably explains why some things were toned down so far.

i think the dvd sales drive a large portion of their budget. i remember when the dvds hit, they pushed them really hard so they could have more money for the battle.

If not then the Blackwater episode will be a very negative departure from the books. I'm already not liking the way Jon Snow has been apparently captured. If they completely eliminate Jon's fight with Halfhand, I'm going to be pissed.

jon snows story has been completely disappointing. the non book reader barely knows who half hand is. theres no relationship, so you take away that moment.
however, im suspecting they will capture jon, bring in a captured half hand, jon kills him, and the audience is left wondering if jon is truly a turncoat. i think they are cutting out the part where hes doing it because of half hands instructions.

And you'd think Ghost would be around to help out Jon, unless Varamyr Sixskins has him otherwise occupied.

I wonder if the Iron Born will even take all of the North. As it seems there is no mention of The Neck.
The build up isn't no where near as big as it was in the book.
Though I was told Tyron already made a reference to chains in the show

I would just like to say that it feels good to have read enough of the books now to feel comfortable reading this thread as well as the tv thread.

Just a warning, all the book material is fair game in these threads, so proceed in here at your own risk.

Yep, if you haven't read all the books and I haven't then fair warning for spoilers of which I could care less. I'm currently grinding about half way through book 4 and frankly I'm struggling with the departure from the main story arcs. Seems like he should/could have introduced and developed some of these additional characters while continuing to develop the main arcs.

Yeah, 4 and 5 as well suffer from not being complete books with complete story arcs. They just go on for a bit then stop. Luckily everything should be fairly back on pace for the 6th book, hopefully he can get it out in a reasonable amount of time.

i remember reading somewhere in the fall that GRRM was confident that viewers wouldn't be disappointed with the way the blackwater battle scene. i think it said something about him having the budget they needed to make it exactly how they wanted and not having to knock out tyrion like they did at the end of the first season

From all that I've read they've been pretty well saving the budget up for this episode this season (even though the CGI with the shadow baby this season was fantastic). And with Martin writing I'm sure it'll be fantastic. I can't wait to see the Wildfire in action.

Were probably at about the same spot in book 4, I am starting to struggle as well. It's gotten to the point where I could read the last page of a chapter and be okay w moving on to the next.

Can't wait until Theon gets what's coming to him.
