I liked it. I never gave a frick about Godzilla (still don't), but it was solid entertainment for a couple of hours. There were a few times when the plot didn't really make sense or whatever, but it didn't bother me enough to dislike anything really.

And FWIW, I loved the 1998 one.

Enjoyable flick. You don't really give a shite about any of the characters when Godzilla isn't on screen. But the actual Godzilla parts are cool.

I did. It was really my first contact with Godzilla in my life, so I thought it was an entertaining movie (even if stupid at points and/or full of plot holes).

Good movie, but Aaron-Taylor Johnson was just bad. Bryan Cranston gives me mega raging boners......right?

I love when honest movie trailers does a movie I love and makes it look bad

spoilers for OP probably:

godzilla's screen time did piss me off though. too much plot for a movie about a giant mutant lizard, but at the same time, I think the plot was pretty well done. they just needed less obstructed views of Godzilla. keep the plot the way it is, but stop covering Godzilla with smoke, stop cutting away from the few times it shows him in full view, etc, and it's an even better movie.

I still loved it though. I've seen it twice and will gladly watch again.

I was 10 when it came out and was obsessed for about a year. I watched it a few months ago and the nostalgia kicked in even though it's pretty terrible and cheesy at times.

I haven't watched it yet but I did get on youtube and watch the fight scenes. It was incredibly badass.

One thing that bugs me about the ending is that they refer to Godzilla as "The King of Monsters" when Godzilla is a female. But I guess in a situation like that you wouldn't really be concerned with that.

There was nothing cool about it..........Pacific Rim was more tolerable.

Where did you come up with this? In the original '54 film, Godzilla was male. The American version of the film was even titled, "Godzilla: King of the Monsters."

I watched Godzilla growing up (even before the '98 movie in which Godzilla is Asexual) and was always under the impression it was a female. Maybe I've been wrong all this time.
