News Radio was great up to the death of Phil Hartman.

Loved this show when it was on. I believe it was on either TNT or TBS

Sports Night. Was in the late nineties. Starred Felicity Huffman, the guy who is dating Angela Bassett's character on 911 and Robert Guillome among others. Fast paced whitty just generally written well.

I wish I had more than one upvote for this. Loved Sports Night.

Lotsa Luck

Short lived sitcom with Dom Deluise right around 1973.

Funny stuff.

So good. But even more obscure and criminally underrated was Eagleheart. The "Death Punch" episode is incredible.

I still work "Hio Hio Ipsanio" in to conversations when I can, most people have no clue what I'm talking about.

To the OP, Boston Common, The Critic, and The Tick (BatManuel cracks me up)

From some of the responses, it seems like we are allowing for a lose interpretation of sitcom, which is fine with me.

Arrested Development is one of my new favs.

The BBC's W1A is a hidden gem on Netflix right now that made me laugh out loud a lot. I'm genuinely surprised it hasn't gained more traction here.

Thanks, I'll check it out.

Another BBC show that I'll throw out despite never having seen it - The Thick of It. Just saw that Amazon Prime has seasons 1, 3, and 4 available for streaming. Malcolm Tucker in In the Loop was awesome, and he's in this series as well.

It's still on the air, but Brockmire fits this category. Hank Azaria plays a disgraced baseball announcer trying to make a comeback with a minor league team owned by Amanda Peet. It's from IFC which has already committed to seasons 3 and 4 which come out in 2019 and 2020. Season 1 is currently on Hulu.
