I feel like Rudd will fill in the role of the “normal” character who they have to save in the end

Don't know about kid Ghostbusters but I'm definitely in for this one

I was so skeptical when the kids were casted but after seeing this I think I will give it a shot.

Well, if you didn't figure out by the numerous clues in the trailer that Finn Wolfhard's character is the grandson of Egon and Janine
I think they're just Egon's grandkids. Louis Tully was laying that pipe to Janine.

That’s going to be a yes for me

Wow. This looks really good. Way better than that abortion of a last film they wanted to force feed us..
Now speaking of that. When paul rudd says "there hasn't been a ghost sighting in 30 years". Does that mean (in this movie) the lady version never happened? I hope that's the case.

Is it a rule that if you are making an 80s nostalgia movie/show you MUST cast Finn Wolfhard?

Maybe - I really don't recall. I would just assume they would follow the canon of the films more than the cartoon. The grandmother's identity is probably irrelevant to the plot in either case.

Yes. The girl power version is non-canon.

Bill Murray doing the voiceover in the trailer, repeating his lines to Akroyd's character from the first movie.
Also, the special effects look SO much better than they did in the recent remake. Whoever chose those effects should have been fired.

I say this without seeing the movie obviously BUT.......
that is how you make a soft reboot.
I’m in opening night

Stranger Things
My reaction watching the trailer was that this is Stranger Things based in the Ghostbusters universe. The movie looks good as something on its own, but it looks to have a much different feel compared to the originals.

Sure sounded like Bill Murray narrating when the windows in the school busses were being blown out.

It might just be the glasses, but I swear they found a kid I would legit believe to be the descendant of Egon Spangler.
Also?
Kudos to Winston for keeping that car is such amazing shape that it still cranks up with 30 year old gasoline and sitting in an abandoned barn for decades.
