Grabbed it from Best Buy on Bluray for 10 bucks... Never seen it before. 75% on Rotten Tomatoes means must be okay, but what does the board think of it?

DDL should have won an oscar for it. He certainly should have won it over Adrian fricking Brody.

Really good movie, DDL and Dicaprio are amazing. Diaz is awful. Movie is really long too.

It's not that overrated. It's a pretty solid Scorsese film. You should enjoy it.

Diaz nearly ruins the movie. Leo's performance in this is overrated. He doesn't quite yet have the gravitas or screen presence that he shows in his future movies to go toe to toe with DDL, who carries the movie.

Brody was great in The Pianist. And I love some DDL and Gangs of New York.

It's got some great scenes, but I don't think it's a great movie. DDL is fricking awesome. Leo's Leo. Cameron Diaz is miscast. It's too long. Scorcese's direction, the cast, and the budget give it a lot of gravitas, but not nearly as much as they were going for. I'd recommend it to the right people.

Fact, not sure why she's even in it.

I kind of liked it this way. Idk if he meant to play it this way or if he just hadn't developed enough to shine alongside DDL, but the movie was clearly about a bigger than life Bill the Butcher. Leo was perfect in it IMO.

Yea this is spot-on. It's a movie where its parts are greater than its sum. Some of the scenes with DDL (and anyone) are ridiculous. Leo has some good ones and the Irish guy with the huge club is a great character as well.

However, it's too long, parts of it drag without adding much, and the ending is just weird (probably too realistic to be honest but really just felt like an empty end).

don't worry, the Academy made up for that by handing DDL the award on a silver platter this past year whenever Joaquin Phoenix clearly deserved it.

I haven't watched Lincoln and don't plan on it. But, without watching I am positive it doesn't hold a candle to There Will be Blood or Gangs of New York in regards to DDL performances.
