We literally just had an episode that was all character development. This board hated it because it was a "filler" episode. We just got an episode that was literally the largest battle in the entire history of the medium of film. This board hates it because there wasn't enough character development for the villain. This is truly some remarkable stuff

I hated the last episode because it was filler in a season finale with only 4 episodes remaining afterward. Loved this episode.

Can we talk about Bran? Is he fricking useless or what? Where was he warging off to the whole time? Even when the NK got there he’s fricking off somewhere else

You didn't catch the guard behind the night king turn his head and his hair move when she whisked by?

Why do people keep saying we didn't learn the NK's purpose. It was to erase mankind and it's memories by killing Bran. He said it last episode.

It would have been more epic had Jon shown up, held NK off, lose and about to be killed then Arya show up. They could have waited and done that in episode 5. Arya could have killed him, but doing it so early, without them having been defeated, without really sacrificing much, just feels wasted.

I’m relatively certain Cersi will lose, but she played this exactly right so far.

I loved it, but I will say skeletons breaking through the concrete tombs they were in was stupid. Shattered forearm is all they would’ve gotten punching through that shite.

I don't think I understand Melisandre's purpose/prophecy at all. So...is there an Azor or not? Is the Lord of Light real? She predicted she would see Arya again, that she would take many faces etc...but why was she screwing around with Stannis at all if she knew that Arya was going to be the one to kill the Night King? Wasn't that Stannis' whole thing? That he would end the long night? And she thought she saw him in the flames? But she saw...Arya? Totally lost with her.

she didn't say she'd take faces. Meli said she saw darkness in Arya's eyes and in the darkness eyes staring back that she'd shut forever. Brown, blue, and green. Then she said she'd meet her again someday. And then freaking years pass.

I also seem to remember her showing Stannis a battle in the snow, the real battle with the Night King. And then she completely course corrects Stannis away from the war with the living. She couldn't have known the Night King was around before that vision.

So she couldn't have known Arya would kill him. I bet she didn't put two and two together until she saw Arya when she came back.

A friggin explanation of night King would've been nice.

What else do you need explained? We saw how he was created and were told his true motives.

His story arc wrapped with Bran’s explaination of his motives last episode.

There will be plenty of time for them to expound more on the NK, what he was after

If he is really dead and doesn't get up, does it even matter at this point?

that's what the prequels will cover

Yeah, OK, but he still gets shanked and accomplishes nothing. Say what you want about the episode, but All of that build up for the Night King was for nothing. So why would you watch an entire prequel series about a loser who does nothing without any accomplishments?

People defending the way the NK was rendered meaningless probably never read any of the books or read lore. This is borderline a slap in the face.

The Night King was NEVER the big bad. The books are not about him. He was always going to lose before the end. D&D got he job by guessing who wins in the end. They aren't just pulling things out their asses.

I don’t understand how Sam survived.

When Jon came running through the castle Sam was basically getting it from all sides on the ground.
