Do you even pay attention to what you say?
huh?
we know there are only 4 episodes left. i knew there were 2 short seasons. if that was indeterminate, i'd have quit before last year
what's so confusing for you?

Sure, there are plot holes and some cheesy acting/dialogue occasionally, but man its just good fun. Some wild deaths, good tits, a bunch of solid characters, and fun action scenes.
I just have fun with it and accept it isn't The Godfather level cinema. You should just try that.
The problem is SFP isn’t that he is comparing it to The Godfather, it is that he is comparing it to seasons 1-4.
The show has gone from a subtle slow burn political drama to a very on the nose action/fantasy show.
I don’t blame anyone but GRRM

My bad I misunderstood what you were trying to say because you repeated yourself in the same sentence
Please address why Jorah getting Sam’s sword doesn’t make sense again

I don’t know how anyone can argue that season 5 was large drop off compared to the rest of the wire.

That is the one thing I didn't understand about the last two episodes...why she needed that weapon made when she already had the VS dagger.
When Gendry gave her the weapon - she put it through its paces with a few moves while their conversation continued. IIRC - One end had a dragon glass blade that resembled a bardiche... The other had a metal cap on it. I'm thinking it's designed so she can affix her dagger to that end - making it into a double-bladed staff/halberd capable of taking out WWs with either end.

my gripe about Gilly was that she's there and TOTALLY different. now she's this super confident and competent character
Well no shite...she isn't under Craster's control anymore and has had Sam boosting her confidence every day for years now.
Did you honestly think she wouldn't change who she is considering where she started to where she is now? Sam taught her how to read. He's told her all kinds of shite he learned from the Citadel. She's getting boned on the reg by someone who thinks the sun rises and sets with her...that's how in love with her Sam is and that's how high of a pedestal he puts her on. You don't think that would change someone's personality and give them a tremendous boost in confidence and competence?
I mean, she literally went from an uneducated wench who was being used and abused by her father/husband to being with someone who was high-born.
You are bitching because she seems "competent" now, when we've seen Sam teach her how to read and she has actually been around civilization for years now. Think about how stupid that sounds.

Bad? No. Ridiculously cheesy? Absolutely.
The writers have lost their fastball and dialogue driven episodes like this one show it
I agree the show isn't above cheese. And I also agree that the dialogue began dying off a bit once the books were surpassed. But last night I thought was fine...more than fine actually. I really enjoyed last night. It wasn't "OMG BEST EPISODE EVARRR!!!1!!1" by any means, but it just felt right and was supremely enjoyable for me. And I thought that the majority of the dialogue was much improved over the last season or two.
Different strokes, I guess.

I am wide open to gripes about season 7
This season has been good, though. It actually feels like GoT again.

They basically told you that Sam survives and writes to tell the history of men and what all has happened through the show .
I thought that was obvious from the very beginning of the series. George RR Martin obviously wrote himself into the story as Samwell.

My theory....
Everyone in the crypt does a horribly gruesome death. Everyone.

And with that thought in mind...
I could see the closing scene being an aging Samwell played by GRRM finishing out the series...

This is the TD Movie Board where the only rule is that
YOU CANNOT CRITICIZE "THE WIRE" IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER
There has never been a more perfect television series

Upon rewatch S7 wasn’t as bad as I had remembered. Things were rushed, yes, but it didn’t bother me as much the second time around. What bothered me the most was the time warps. They just didn’t make much sense and took away from the show a bit. But the plots and whatnot were still pretty solid. There were some great things in S7.

I agree, it's going to be a bloodbath. As of now I imagine that will mean that Varys, Tyrion, Gilly, and then a bunch of random kids/women are gonna die down there. Unless Tyrion ignores Dany's orders and doesn't stay down in the crypt.

But there’s two reasons to think the magic of Winterfell may no longer be applicable. For generations, it’s been made explicit that there must always be a Stark in Winterfell. In Season 2, the last Starks left Winterfell which may break the magical protection. Also Bran is in Winterfell and has been touched by the Night King, which we’ve seen broke the protection for the Three Eyed Raven’s cave.
Technically there are always starks in winterfell. Literally sealed in tombs. They can never leave!
