So what are all of the war tacticians planning for the upcoming battle with the dead? I know they have dragonfire, but shouldn't they be cutting all the trees and getting ready for large bonfires to funnel the army of the dead. Why didn't Tyrion get wildfire from King's Landing?

I'd send dragons out there first and back the dead into a corner.

Also pretty sure there was no way Cersei was letting Tyrion get any of her wildfire

I doubt that just a Valyrian Steel blade can kill him. I think he'll have to die the same way he was created.
OR

he now has immunity to dragon glass, and only Valarian steel can effect him.

Something's going to be different, somebody gets a shot at some point and he just keeps chugging.

I lean towards him being immune to dragon glass, because there should be thousands of obsidian-tipped arrows flying in this battle.

You probably have to pull that chunk out of his heart to off him.

Wildfire would wipe those frozen fckers out. Good solution but doubt we will see it come into play. It's too unstable to transport in carts from KL to WF. Cersei doesn't want to help the north anyway.

Gendry is working like a kid in a Chinese sweatshop trying to turn all that dragon glass into swords, axes, and arrow heads.

Sam is hitting the books hard trying to find more information on the NK and wight walkers. Hopefully he runs across something more than how to peel grey-scale off Jorah.

I can imagine Bran warging into the NK somehow to immobilize him while Jon rips out the Dragonglass in his heart, thus killing both Bran and NK at the same time.

there is no way within any of the already detailed rules of this show that the humans & dragons at winterfell can defeat the hordes of wights heading their way. its just math

some kind of way there must be a solution which "de-aminates" the army of the dead

I don’t see how you can just warg into another warg. The NK has already cut off Bran from warging in his vicinity, he isn’t just going to let Bran just warg into him.

So tell me bud, how do you exactly prepare for an enemy most men have never seen before AND you dont know the extent of weaponry he has outside of wights/bears/giants/and a dragon?

Honestly I don't know why they don't have their 100,000 Dothraki (or however many) just run down the army with dragonglass weapons. Can anyone tell me why that wouldn't work? Sure some Dothraki would die but they seem to have the numbers to go toe to toe with the wights. And I know, the Dothraki can be turned once they die but I've got to believe a Dothraki is good for killing at least 3 wights first.

If she's not sending her army north there's no way she's giving away wildfire.

You know that's not the only meaning right?

In A Clash of Kings, Dany visits the House of the Undying and sees a multitude of visions. One of the visions is of Rhaegar holding a baby

quote:

Viserys, was her first thought the next time she paused, but a second glance told her otherwise. The man had her brother’s hair, but he was taller, and his eyes were a dark indigo rather than lilac.

“Aegon,” he said to a woman nursing a newborn babe in a great wooden bed. “What better name for a king?”

“Will you make a song for him?” the woman asked.

“He has a song,” the man replied. “He is the prince that was promised, and his is the song of ice and fire.”

He looked up when he said it and his eyes met Dany’s, and it seemed as if he saw her standing there beyond the door.

“There must be one more,” he said, though whether he was speaking to her or the woman in the bed she could not say. “The dragon has three heads.”

He went to the window seat, picked up a harp, and ran his fingers lightly over its silvery strings. Sweet sadness filled the room as man and wife and babe faded like the morning mist, only the music lingering behind to speed her on her way.

Most readers assumed that the woman was his first wife, Ella Martel, and the baby was the first Aegon who is allegedly killed in Robert's Rebellion. However, with the revelation that Jon Snow's father is actually Rhaegar, the baby in the vision is clearly Jon whom Rhaegar named Aegon as well.

Doesn’t Rhaegar leave before Lyanna gives birth?

Dies, actually.

But many of the visions are not of actual events. They are symbolic. For instance, the first vision is these creatures tearing apart a naked woman; this was referencing the War of the Five Kings. The second was a reference to the Red Wedding which hadn't even occurred yet.

Maybe the most interesting vision is the last prophecy she receives:

quote:

"…mother of dragons…"

"child of three…"

"three heads has the dragon…"

"three heads has the dragon…"

the ghost chorus yammered inside her skull with never a lip moving, never a breath stirring the still blue air…

"mother of dragons…"

"child of storm…"

The whispers became a swirling song…

"three fires must you light…one for life and one for death and one to love…"

Her own heart was beating in unison to the one that floated before her, blue and corrupt…

"three mounts must you ride…one to bed and one to dread and one to love…"

The voices were growing louder, she realized, and it seemed her heart was slowing, and even her breath…

"three treasons will you know… once for blood and once for gold and once for love…"

Where is Ghost?

The show is moving too fast and getting sloppy.

You hold the dragons back, they're Jon and Dany's emergency escape, and they're also aerial observation posts.
You don't send them early as someone suggested, because Night King, with nothing else bothering him, takes them down within a couple of passes.

Question- any way to communicate while on the dragon? Strap Bran behind Jon, have him warg some critters or ravens around a board? Jon points it out, Bran does the rest? Bran, move that group up to the line. And pull that one on the left back. Davos and Tyrion watch the board, and relay the moves to the troops?

I'm thinking the Jon-Dany thing resolves in a way other than conflict.
People are pushing the Mad Queen angle, but rewatch her meeting with Sam. She's coming to thank and reward this guy, she's very happy, she looks almost ready to give him a royal hand-job.
She then realizes that she's not only NOT giving Sam a reward, she's ruined his life and made him hate her, while Sam is still holding it together just enough to stay respectful. She looks like she did when that shepherd brought the burned child to her throne in Meereen, that prompted her to chain Rhaegon and Viserion in the catacombs. She looked ready to crawl into that hole with them.
I think the Mad Queen stuff is something SHE fears, her achilles heel, and that's why we're seeing this stuff now. It's going to be what pushes her to accept Jon.

I think we get a hint of that when Jaime shows up. He should be under the Queen's protection, and that's something she should be assertive about. If she isn't, she's doubting herself. Remember that when Jon bent the knee, she was regretting not listening to him, and said she hoped she'd earn his loyalty.
-oh, and the picnic scene, where she said we could stay here a thousand years and nobody would find us... that's kind of an odd thing for a Queen eager to take rule to say. The shine is coming off for her, she needs a vacation. And someone to take over.

I think that was meant for Bronn, to wonder which ho was diseased and whether his dick would rot off.
