Jesus frick it's been proven already.
Show Danny - immune to fire
Book Danny - immune to fire when magic is in play

Hawgfan thinks Danny is fire immune.
well I'm not the only one

Other people point out GRRM quotes tending to indicate she is not.
GRRM's quotes that were put here leave a lot up for interpretation

Hawgfan refuses to google it himself and expects everyone to do it for him.
busy with other things. thankfully others were able to link it here

I doubt the same thing happens in the books. They are two different stories at this point
Dany's show storyline is pretty much the same as in the books. Only big change I can think is how she leaves Qarth and some of her advisors/inner circle.

I mean if I was wearing a supposedly fireproof jumpsuit and someone told me it would "probably not" survive a fire.... I would not call it an actual fireproof jumpsuit.

has it?
hopefully people aren't basing that off the non-committal quotes linked here

Meereen isn't besieged in the show. Barristan Selmy isn't dead. Jorah doesn't have greyscale. She didn't have a fleet of ships in the book. Varys isn't with her in the books.
Those are some pretty big differences.

some, if not all of that could happen in the books not released yet

Cut and dry to me.

While a lot of people on this subreddit are already aware of this, clearly a large number of people still believe Dany is immune to fire, because it is brought up all the time. I hope this post can get enough visibility that this misconception occurs a little less often.
When Dany walks into Drogo's funeral pyre, and is unharmed, it is the result of blood magic, not some godly immunity to fire. GRRM states this in an interview [here](LINK as follows:
>**Granny**: Do Targaryens become immune to fire once they "bond" to their dragons?
**George_RR_Martin**: Granny, thanks for asking that. It gives me a chance to clear up a common misconception. TARGARYENS ARE NOT IMMUNE TO FIRE! The birth of Dany's dragons was unique, magical, wonderous, a miracle. She is called The Unburnt because she walked into the flames and lived. But her brother sure as hell wasn't immune to that molten gold.

I agree, targaryens are not naturally fire resistant
my opinion is dany has shown to be a special case
eta and let's not forget his probably not quote

but you have to figure in that GRRM will die before he finishes ADOS, and possibly before we get TWOW as well.
The show could be all that we know :(

quote:GRRM's explanation for her surviving the fire at the end of book one is incredibly weak.
I like the book explanation that Danny is not fire-proof better. I think the show sees it as a convenient excuse to keep burning her clothes off.

Plus that scene was lame and redundant as frick.
I'm honestly just glad it wasn't Drogon who saved her. I did like seeing her take things into her own hands.

Dany definitely suffers burns when flying away on her dragon.

There's got to be some bigger twist to the Clegane bowl right?
Like the HS chooses the Mountain as his champion now that Tommen is aligned with the faith. And the Hound steps in to defend Cersei?
No chance. Mountain would take a fall and die to save Cersei
If Cersei was smart, she would chose sweet Robin Arryn to be her champion

That's a good catch but I'm not sure why they would waste anytime with the Waif at this point. Let Arya kill her and be done with it. Why waste more screen time on the Waif?
Posted on 6/3/16 at 2:48 pm to Linkovich
I just think that means that he's more upset with the Waif than he is with Arya. More proof that once Arya kills her, the debt is paid.
