What am I missing? What was the point of that speech? If they didn't kill her after roasting their leaders, then they were already behind her.
The already bowed to her. Seems like they didn't have an exciting moment to wrap the episode so they tossed that in.
Liked the episode just felt that last bit was pointless.

Let's do a recap of the episode:
Sam's dad is pissed he's banging a wildling? - No way! Glad I didn't watch last week's preview.
Arya can't turn her back on her past self and family? - blindsided!
Khaleesi has a dragon - you serious bro?
Tommen joins the high sparrow - wait he became a bigger pussy than before?!?!
Holy shite, Benjen is alive - I'm glad that advanced the bran story line!

This crap with the high sparrow is SO frickING STUPID. You have Jamie who has killed a king and various children, but he's afraid to even confront homeless Bernie Sanders because...?
did you see the crowd?
did you see how much it out-numbered the army?
do you really think they want to cause a civil war in KL?

The crowd was literally there to throw onions and see titties. You think they care frick all about fighting an army?

you think that mob likes the higher born? after all the scenes they've shown over the series?

The Tyrells march an army into the city, with armor and big arse spears, but they won't face off against a couple dozen guys with robes and clubs. Lady Tyrell saying "He beat us." Are you fricking kidding me? Throw a spear through Bernie's heart and end this dumb bullshite. It's so frustrating! Margaery is cooking something up apparently. How about you push the sparrow's geriatric arse down the stairs? And Cersei's little speech about what the Lannisters do to their enemies. Why do they keep beating around the bush? Trial by combat? Totally unnecessary if they just stop acting like quivering pussies around the sparrow. It doesn't jive with anything we've been shown about this family throughout the entire series. And then we wrap it up with Dany and Drogon's little surprise party to rally the troops. Everything about the episode was retarded. I felt somewhat bad for Sam because he's a fat loser and his dad hates him, but there was never ANY reason for him to take Gilly to meet his family in the first place. I love the show and look forward to it every week but everything about this episode pissed me off.
All of this plus how much of a pussy is Tommen. This ep was shite and the previews for next week didn't seem to hype much either. When the season is 10 episodes it really sucks to throw away an ep. I hope next weeks isn't another.

I saw a crowd of unarmed peasants, yes.
That's completely beside the point though. This sparrow shite has gone on way too long, and he's been able to gain an inordinate amount of power when someone could have easily killed him a long time ago. It's bad writing and it doesn't go along with anything that's been presented about the nature of the Lannisters. The sparrow is old as shite, someone could just smother him in his sleep and say he died of natural causes if they're afraid of an uprising.
The fact that he's been able to gain so much power is absurd, even in a fantasy show.

That mob of filth wouldn't have done shite and if they tried they would've been cut down with the quickness.

unlikely due to sheer numbers
and what would happen if somehow that selection of soldiers did cut them down?
you think the city would just go "oh these people we loathe are breaking the rules we live by, attacking our religion, and just being assholes that act like the rules don't apply to them. then if we stand up for our faith, they kill us? we'll just sit back and take it" ?
the whole point of the KL drama is that the nobility who is used to pulling the strings has lost that power
the inner drama is that the nobility who spawned the current royal family are losing powers over their progeny. do they rise up against their own blood and their families' futures? there isn't another baratheon heir or tyrell daughter to replace them. that's the personal conflict in the larger political conflict

it's very likely that if he was cut down, marg, tommen, lloris, etc are still under their thumb
and i don't think it's that easy to access the HS, regardless
they'd have to infiltrate the faith militant over time to get a mole close to him. time is a bit wonky in how they present the show but it's probably been a month or 2 since the 3 high lords were taken into custody

I don't know, I'm banking on Margery playing the long game and pussy Tommen is now in on it. If not, the writing has gotten lazy and it's not making sense. Tommen is a pussy but he wouldn't go against his mother. This whole Sparrow crap is ridiculous. He's the king and he leaves his mom and wife in there and let's his mom walk naked and was about to let his wife? This High Sparrow crap is ruining the show for me.

i think that is very likely. he's not her first son-king who did so
cersei clearly is not the master manipulator that she thinks she is. tommen and goff are just 2 polar examples

you don't think the horror and shame of that influenced his decision with margery?
before the HS got this power, he was already allowing her to influence him over cersei
why would that be different now that he's given the chance to (1) get her back (2) without being shamed and (3) in the light of a new religion that he's found?
remember tywinn's speach to him about what makes a good king. he has no real person to give him advice and no strongman like Tywinn and he's making the "wrong" decisions

Before this HS crap, Tommen was completely wrapped around Cersei and then Margery's fingers. To think he would just leave them in is ridiculous. Like I said, I'm hoping Margery figured out what she needed to do and she's not a religious freak now, but playing the long game. But this whole plot has sucked the wind out of the show when it comes on imo.
I get your point after the fact but I'm talking before it. Now, he's back to doing whatever Margery wants but he let her sit in jail for that long? Cersei was the person to give advice and again, he let her go through all that? It doesn't make sense in the story we've been watching.

Kings landing is very boring. There seems to be nothing at stake, and the king of westeros seems only as strong as the family from which he came. I could care less about cersei, or margeary. A small insignificant plot within the context of the wight walker army and across the narrow sea.
I feel like they don't really express the strength of the being on the iron throne enough. It's like kings landing is as much it's own little world as anywhere else is, but it's the most coveted throne in the world? They need to show how much the king of westeros really effects the realm in the physical or through words. Those across the narrow sea seem 100% detached from whoever sits on the iron throne.

Outside of Uncle Benjen showing back up and a short glimpse of some of Bran's visions pretty boring episode. Another generic Dany speech and Tommen fricking everything up by thinking with his dick again.
Oh well not every episode can be great. Looks like Arya may finally be heading back to Westeros which would be nice.

I think this was the point of the Dany scene:
In the visions from bran you saw a lot of the mad king (targaryen), and I'm thinking the targaryen family with their dragons and valyrian steel were key in defeating the wight walkers before, and they follow up those visions with Sam taking a valyrian steel sword, and Dany showing obvious control of her dragons, thus heightening the wight walker war stakes.

Agreed. I mean shite, they wouldn't have booed at the play when Goffrey was getting poisoned if they knew what a turd he was
