The GNC isn't even actually a done deal in the books. So ridiculous that people are convincing themselves that it HAS to happen.

They also didn't have time to really develop anyone at the wall outside of Thorne and a few of Jons friends (most of which are dead or gone) so they needed a face for an actual betrayal. If it was just Thorne and some random watchmen, it would've been pretty lame. He was the Brutus to Jons Ceasar.
Even still they had two randoms that got hanging last night. They got lines and everything
ETA I didn't even realize one of them was Bowen Marsh

I just think it is a more interesting story. Sure it may not happen in the books, and if it doesn't happen there either, I will also be upset.

At this point it's considered as much a sure thing as R+L=J

Woah nothing other than D + D = T is as sure of a thing as R + L = J.

It's possible it could happen, but I'm not really a subscriber to the theory. It'd be cool as shite if they pulled it off though. Aside from LF's General plotline, I'm just going with the flow for the rest of the series.
Unless there's something just plain sloppy (which to be fair ToJ doesn't appear sloppy to a non-reader), I'm just done comparing the show and the books. No point to it anymore aside from bitching and complaining.

I'm just saying people are expecting it as much as R+L=J. I might have worded that badly

Yeah I was just being sarcastic about the biggest crackpot theory around

I want D+D=T to happen just for the sheer what the frickery

I enjoyed the scene as well. The sword fighting was a thing of beauty
I'm so glad they didn't go all Dorne with the fighting.

Looks fairly pale to me when compared to the other sword.

Ah, I knew it was a big sword but I was expecting "pale as milk glass, alive with light"
Again, nitpicking.
Thanks for the screenshots
I stand by everything else, though. No reason to frick with much of the dialogue at all.

Agreed, the choreography was great and they did a good job of conveying what a badass Dayne was. Given how Areo Hotah and Barristan Selmy went out, that wasn't a given. I hope we get to see he and Rheagar go at it in the tournament in another flashback.

Manderly killing the Freys did happen, though, and he gets killed by Freys as well. That wasn't going to go down well with the different families, and turning Manderly into an offscreen, bullshite character is a horrible idea. That's worse than not having Strong Belwas, because he affected the plot a lot more.
If the spoiler shite goes down in e9, I'm just going to assume that D&D simply get off on being taboo.
Also, I wonder if the show is intended to be so radically different than the hopefully future books, it helps sell the books to people who don't like how the show handled it. HBO gets to tell its own story and grrm gets to give readers a possibly more agreeable ending.

There is a lot of speculation which people are taking as gospel.
For example, given the propensity for insanity in the Targ line, R + L = J may be totally false. What if R + L = R?
Ramsey is TPTWP.
All hail the rightful successor to the Mad King, Ramsey Targaryen.

But you have to agree he was a changed man after his time in prison.

Manderly is only wounded in that exchange

Ah that explains the confusion.
Thought it was a 3rd member of the KG yet to be seen.
Thanks. I did find that Twitter post. Still couldn't make sense of it.
