Rhaegar dies first but I can't remember how the inheritance works in the Fret situation. I'm not sure if the Firstborn's firstborn inherits or if it goes to the second born.
Rhaegar would have been heir apparent. Once he had male heirs (particularly a legitimate one like Aegon), his line would have been dominant. Viserys would have had a claim once Aegon was (presumed) dead. If R+L=J - then a bastard has more of an uphill fight - the claims are more equal. I would assume that Westeros would prefer even a bastard son (Jon?) of Rhaegar over the legitimate daughter of the mad king, particularly an "alien" with no connection or history in Westeros.

That's almost as certain as R+L=J, honestly.

Wouldn't be a daughter. The options would be Rhaegar's child (of questionable bastardy given the Targaryen family has a history of bigamy) and Viserys who is Rhaegar's brother.

R+L married before J. Correct?

Is there any text to support it outside of the story that Meera tells? She is surprised Ned doesn't tell the story which could indicate that it was Lyanna (since Lyanna was a touchy subject for Ned). But I don't remember Lyanna ever being noted as receiving jousting training.

We'll find out this Sunday, look for a ring on her finger when she talks to Ned.

It's amazing to go read the Hodor thread. The level of discussion here is on a much higher level. I don't know how some people would not want to read the books.
They're all focusing on Jon taking Winterfell. When in reality, he's destined (possibly) for much much more.

I exhaustively researched this Meera/Jon twin theory years ago and the biggest obstacle (in the books) was Meera's green eyes. However, things raised in the swamps of the Neck are known to physically adapted to their surroundings and her green eyes could have been a product of her environment or just an anomaly since Starks and Targaryens haven't reproduced together.
The bottom line: Meera absolutely has to have some significance other than a simple escort/traveling companion for Bran. Her being Jon Snow's twin sister is among the most logical explainations.

I don't think there's much doubt they married. Rhaegar seemingly loved Lyanna even though the whole prophecy things makes it seem more calculated.
Lyanna definitely loved Rhaegar though.

Even if Rhaegar had a true heir, Viserys would have been next once he died while Aegon still lived.

FWIW the wiki quotes GRRM saying the laws aren't clear. The targaryens especially had a history of some kooky succession situations. Notably a king passing over his first son's daughter (the son was dead) to anoint his second son.
Slightly different situation here given it is a grandson but eh make of it what you will.

Well GRRM has a hardon for unrequited love, so she could just be another version of that for Bran since he seems to be crushing on her hard in the books.

One of my crackpot theories was bound to pan out and yes, I may fap.

Not if you're talking about traditional succession rules
If Rhaegar has a true heir, even if Rhaegar dies before his father, his son would still be heir to the throne even if he has an uncle (viserys)
Its the first born of the first born
But they are targs so you never know

Apparently you have not heard the prophesy of the Cougar Queen Aunt doing it with her nephew Lord Commander. It is known.

I am curious how much Jon knows about Dany at this point. He was lord commander so I'm sure he has a good bit of info on the dealing in westeros but did anyone send him or mormount a raven about it?
Really curious as to how they meet and how they react to each other
