I'm pretty sure he's a solider in the new movie he's in, Testament of Youth. I wouldn't be at all surprised if D&D gave him the ok to cut it because of that role and to help with the long con. It's not like most men's hair doesn't grow back fairly quick.

Why? they'll have plenty of storylines to keep next season going. It would also make Kit's interview technically true. Plus it would be the ultimate troll job for D&D and GRRM.
