On the other hand, it's kind of gutsy to dump a fairly important character for a whole season.

I'd rather a season off than what they ended up doing with Daenerys and supposedly expanding her TV storyline vs. her book storyline because she was a popular character on the TV show. At least that's what I've heard from the non-Hodors in the middle ground thread. Expanding Khaleesi was a mistake, shelving Bran and Hodor seems like the right move.

I think there are a couple of things they could of given us From Bran, just so you know who he is. Maybe more flashbacks.
No one remembers Rikon, now Bran going to go away as well?
I guess it has to be done that way.

on a side note, i just read where Winds of Winter won't be published until at least the end of 2015. So that really probably means around 2017. WTF George? I don't give a shite how long the book is, just write the damn thing.

The good news out of all this is it seems Dorne will be a major player this season, which is nice.

No Hodor or Bran in season 5...

Good. Their story line sucked and took screen time away from other characters I'd rather be watching.

You're right. Bran riding the most powerful dragon in Westeros would suck and take time away from Tommen/Sansa/Theon/Samwell.

Haven't read the books, but it doesn't seem like that's even remotely close to happening in the show. When the time comes for him to ride dragons, I'm sure he'll be back on. In the meantime, I can deal without watching him sitting in a cave under a tree talking to a 3 eyed crow for a while

Neither have I, but if you watch the show it's not hard to assume.

In the last episode we saw, he was told that he will be able to ride dragons.

Danny's most powerful dragon has gone M.I.A.

What makes you think the story would go back to him talking to the 3 eyed crow? He met the man behind the 3 eyed crow. His story has really taken off, and is now one of my favorites.

Honestly, it wouldn't shock me if a few select tard Hodors forget who Bran is between this season and the next. I think one particularly dumb Hodor thought Tywin was the King and didn't understand why Tyrion killed Shae.

One didn't remember who Locke was during S4 and he had all those scenes with Jaime in S3.

Well this is reasonable.

Their parts in the next two books, which include the last few scenes from the last season, are very scarce and little happens worth putting on air.
