At the time, this is what I thought, too - in hindsight, I think it may warrant further exploration.

He's their legendary badass enforcer, feared by everyone in the kingdom. They are weaker without him.
And all double death predictors should be banned.
Seriously though, one guy predicted it and said something about the mountain skull dragging Oberyn. That's what I remembered immediately after it literally happened.
The spoilers are out there, ready to pounce at any moment.

That's why I pretty much refrain from posting any sort of theory I have. If you turn out to be right, you'll be accused that you knew spoilers.
I wonder how ole blue boy is doing
. That guy was spoiler ridden; you couldn't trust anything he posted. Good thing he got banned.

I think you're safe as long as you show your work.

Yes - it was spoiled for me - outside of this thread, but I had to bite my tongue when it was in here. I agree that the double death predictions came from people who'd read spoilers.
And the "double death" isn't confirmed yet for the show - just because it may have happened that way in the books - they may handle it a different way in the show.

I edited for thread/Hodor peace and tranquility.

I've only come into 2 of the threads this season and have been spoiled each time. I mean obviously spoiled. There's really no doubt about it. I appreciate the site people trying to keep it real, but really there is no way around it. If you come to these threads, you're going to get spoiled. And that's a shame because it would be fun to talk about. Maybe if/when the HBO series is up to date with the books, that will be quite entertaining. Don't know if that will happen, though.

I make a 100% effort to not spoil anything that has been spoiled for me. When I discuss things here - actual events - I try to keep them solely and exclusively to what HBO has already presented.
Heck, that should be the draw of this thread. That's why I err on the side of editing when someone says "SPOILER" - when there is no spoiler in what I posted.

It's like some kind of crazy communist witch hunt. Someone said I should be banned because I talked about reader reaction to the "rape" scenes when it was all over the internet.

It's nice to sort of be on the outside of the spoiler talk shite for a change.

Just trying to maybe head off some bad discussion (in terms of the Hodor thread),
You and the other aggressively stupid and strident Hodors ruin this whole website for me. I'd just have liked a place where people who didn't read could have had reasonable discussions and make careful observations from the show without the spoilers being included.
But that's not the goal. The goal is to accuse people who remember details and actual things like character names or plot details of verboten behavior like conscious thought that must be attributable to reading. You people are so aggressively stupid there's no place to have a GOT discussion for people who haven't read the books but have paid careful attention.

Middle Ground Thread might work for you. Only discussion for what happened in the books is up to where they are in the show anyway.

I agree - although there are a good smattering of folks who desparately want to spoil things for others that poke in here - I just think that the mere hint of a discussion is fouled up by the hint of spoilers, and the sensitivity towards perceived spoilers.

That's not even true at all. The whole reason I said what I said (that you quoted) was because people started in with "theories" that they got from other websites and from discussions with people they know who have read the fricking books. People in the thread are more than capable of putting two and two together and forming opinions and theories, but some of the shite that was starting to get mentioned went above and beyond that. So I wanted to make sure we didn't go past that line...why don't you quote the parts where I specifically said that I didn't think anybody had posted any kinds of spoilers or something like that, you dick.
