That was actually my point. I'm probably one of the biggest advocates of NOT going to the Hodor thread at all, but I broke my own rule. It won't happen again.

I haven't chimed in this thread much yet but what the hell was the mountain doing?

Does he just round up a few homeless for murder practice?

I thought prisoners at first, but randoms would be much better.

Prisoners that could have gone to the wall, such is life under the Lannisters rule.

Would have been cool if one of them had happened to be a Karl type that was an expert fighter. (I'm trying to remember if those guys the Mountain was slaughtering even had weapons).

At least it was believable that the Mountain was mowing those guys down without any armor (or even a shirt). I thought it was silly that Ramsey ran into a fight with armored Iron Islanders without any armor himself and came out on top.

This Mountain looks waaaay too nice. Like the kind of guy you'd want to have a beer with.

The other Mountain actors were much more intimidating.

See on a theory like this I wonder if GRRM was like "don't show this guy in the series because I haven't fully developed what I want to in the books yet"

I'd say we better have met just about everyone GRRM intends to introduce. Only ones I think we have yet to meet are Harold Hardying, Willas Tyrell, and of course Howland Reed.

Off topic, but I've been thinking about how books 4/5 will plot to seasons 5/6. I think one of the best plots of those seasons, and maybe of the series overall, will be the Aegon stuff. Yea we don't know the ultimate payoff yet in the books, and it's highly believed he could be a fAegon, but if they do the show right I still think he will be another character and faction that you really pull for.

Can't wait for Tyrion's speech to him about not waiting around for or pandering to Dany. And just think about the time people are really getting restless and tired of Dany's Mereenese knot, we will see Targaryen banners flying in Westeros under a new hope.

I bet that both books will be done by next season. Seriously, we're in half the characters story arcs in those chapters, so why not? We're already here with:

Theon
Brienne
Sansa
Bran
Dany and co
Stannis and the Iron Bank

I think only Jon, Tyrion, and Cersei's arc would take a significant time to tell during that season. The others I think they could skip an episode or two and not miss much on.

the first mountain looks so much like I imagined him in the books. The new mountain does not seem intimidating at all.

I completely agree and I've been saying for a while that I could easily see ~80% of AFFC-ADWD completed by the end of S5.

I think so too, and unless GRRM picks up the pace on his writing, it's gonna be a very "interesting" season 6.....
