I'm not sure if the show would want to go in this direction because the multiple plot lines could get out of hand.
You mean multiple as in outside of the 15+ going on currently, right?

His claim is the only legit one.

He being the son of the usurper has more a rightful claim than stannis I think. Bastard or not.
...
Yep, Gendry was never acknowledged by Robert, so he doesn't even have the bastard last name.

Margaery talking and smiling out the side of her face irks me.
Yes. She's always grinning like the Cheshire Cat, while simultaneously not showing any hips or nips. You can tell she's about to get busy with Tommen, but to me this whole scenario is just too easy. Joffrey gets conveniently killed, and lo and behold, his brother is just a sweet little ANGEL.
I'm thinking he might be some kind of sexual freak too, like once Margery gets in bed with him he's going to involve the cat somehow.

Isn't Stannis the one with the most deserved claim to the thrown?
Well, he and Dany both have legit claims to the throne. But, if Tommen dies, Tywin isn't going to just say, "well, we don't have a legit claim to the throne, I'll just take my happy arse to Casterly Rock"

Right. A claim to the throne is really only as legitimate as the army that backs your claim. But I just meant who claim is legit in terms of actual bloodlines and whatnot in a perfect world.
And good call on Dany...wasn't even thinking about her (perhaps because I hope she gets less and less screen time or dies soon).

Poor Marg, widowed twice and still a virgin. She must be itching for the D!

That isn't even close to what I've said. I'm saying it will be an every man for himself situation. Tywin characterized the Tyrells as their biggest rival. What if rather than helping to pay off the Iron Bank debt, the Tyrells went to the IBoB and asked for backing to secure the crown? What if LF convinced Walter Frey and the rest of Riverrun (LF is now lord of Harrenhall there) to join forces with the Vale (through Lysa) and the North (with Sansa's help). He'd basically rebuild the same army Robb had that was giving Tywin all he could handle. If Tommen dies the Lannisters won't abandon KL, but they also will not automatically be accepted as rulers of Westeros.

I agree. My point is that they already aren't automatically accepted as the rulers of Westeros. If someone had an army that could overtake them, they'd do it, regardless if they felt that the Lannisters a legit claim to the throne or not. (see Stannis and Dany)

I don't think she ever consummated her marriage with Renly. He seemed to be disgusted by the concept of it, and closest he got was when he got drunk and suggested that he PIIHB.
She even suggested to him that she could get her brother in there to "help him out"...even that didn't work.

It was implied by Loras to Renly that Marg was not a virgin.

Grandma Tyrell seemed to think pretty highly of her whoring skills as well.

Hm. I don't remember that.
Well, she still never consummated either of her marriages.

She was giving Sansa dick riding riding tips when she was about to marry the Imp
