Yeah...i didn't particularly care for that scene. Why make Daario such a badass against Meereen's champion only to have Jon get bailed out by one of Craster's women? Makes no sense.

Well, I don't think being a sword fighter was ever Jon's strong suit. He's competent at it but Rob was always better.

Jon's forte' is leadership. He's good at training people to fight. And he's good at making the hard decisions a leader has to make - "kill the boy".

And at least he didn't get killed by Meryn fricking Trant.

the CGI architecture is a little ridiculous in the show

I don't like either version of the eyrie, both look top heavy in a strong wind.

I disagree. That guy was a well renowned assassin, the best in the biz (he was no faceless man though). He could have gutted Jon easily with the close quarters they were fighting in. Jon was really lucky to have help from the Craster wife.

So I guess it did take away from his badassery to need help. It's not Jon's fault though that he was castle trained to fight.

ETA: Yes, I did contradict myself.

Honestly, Jon's Valyrian Steel sword should have been able to cut through a kitchen knife.

. The Hound has some of the best lines in the series. His line about Syrio's hair being greasy was absolutely hilarious.

Exactly. Hoster was very good at elevating House Tully. He arranged the marriage for Cat to Brandon/then Ned, Lysa and Jaime (until Cersei fricked it up with making Jaime join the Kingsguard), and Edmure and Arianne (until Doran squashed it because of her secret betrothal to Viserys). Hoster would have had the North, the Westerlands, and Dorne/the South on his side. That's a pretty damn strong alliance if you ask me.

Yeah, if this plan worked out, he would have had the power of the Riverlands, The North, the Westerlands, and Dorne at his back, and 4 of his descendants would rule 4 kingdoms. Couldn't ask for a better alliance if he tried.

From the Hodor thread:

Margaery talking and smiling out the side of her face irks me.

Yes. She's always grinning like the Cheshire Cat, while simultaneously not showing any hips or nips. You can tell she's about to get busy with Tommen, but to me this whole scenario is just too easy. Joffrey gets conveniently killed, and lo and behold, his brother is just a sweet little ANGEL.

I'm thinking he might be some kind of sexual freak too, like once Margery gets in bed with him he's going to involve the cat somehow.

Excellent news for Ser Pounce.

Indeed. .

Also, does this recipe look very similar to the ones that Sansa eats on the show? The past 2 lemon cake recipes I found on Pinterest and in GRRM's book were shite and this looks promising/more how I picture lemon cakes to look like.

Were they really kitchen knifes? They looked like very effective daggers to me.

Valyrian Steel means it's sharp, it's not a light saber that instantly cuts through anything it touches.

When I get home I can post for you the one from Feast of Ice and Fire if you want me too. It'll be a few hours.

ETA: Scratch that, you said the book was shite. Have you tried just regular lemon bar recipes or lemon ice box cake? Or lemon petit fours

I was thinking the guy with the knives was holding his own against Jon due to the close quarters they were fighting in. It takes some room to swing a great sword while the knives are a better choice in close quarters. Just ask that nameless Lannister guy who encountered the Red Viper.

Well, there are 2 recipes in the Feast of Ice and Fire book. The Elizabethan lemon cakes (the one I tried) didn't come out good at all. I didn't try the Modern Day Lemon Cake recipe yet--basically looks like petit fours with lemon glaze.

I found a lemon bar recipe on Pinterest but they were too 'wet' in texture...I'm really a good baker but I've been failing at these lemon recipes lately.

Lemon Ice Box Cake could work, and that Tyler Florence lemon pudding cake looks like lemon cakes too. Maybe I should email D&D and ask them for the recipe that they use in the show :nerd:.
