I was thinking the guy with the knives was holding his own against Jon due to the close quarters they were fighting in. It takes some room to swing a great sword while the knives are a better choice in close quarters. Just ask that nameless Lannister guy who encountered the Red Viper.

Exactly, Jon was really lucky to get out of that alive IMO.

Honestly, Jon's Valyrian Steel sword should have been able to cut through a kitchen knife.

This would have been the better scene. Jon makes an overhead swing down onto the double knives blocking and cuts through both knives and parts the guy's head. But in reality Jon was at a disadvantage in that situation in close quarters. I noticed Jon was holding his sword with one hand most of the time. If he's going to fight like that he should be either using a shield or at least have a knife of his own in his left hand.

ala Raiders of the lost Arch, have the guy spinning knifes around like a jack arse then Jon just chop him in half. That is what i wanted

No, I posted it. The idea of the thread was to come up with a topic that a poster would never start a thread about.

It would be like Ace Midnight starting a thread on how he preferes the new Battlestar Galactica to the original series.

The proper word here would be "subscribe", IMHO.

The thing with the recipes is, at least for me, I find they need tweaking.

I wasn't a fan of the Elizabethan lemon cake recipe at all. Almost like a cross between a meringue and a cookie, and the cookbook authors couldn't decide what they wanted it to be in terms of taste and texture. You'd think with GRRM as their taste tester that he'd give suggestions.

the crappy lemoncake recipe
