I think the common misconception is, that at the end of season 2 when we saw the thousands of walkers, that they were actively marching towards the wall. I think that's making people impatient

Ah. Thanks for clearing this up. I assumed those were runners.

I mean, it seems like she should just keep popping those things out until Stannis is King, right?

And therein lies the problem with stories that include supernatural elements. There doesn't need to be any physical, scientific logic behind any event. It makes for easier writing, and cheats the audience to an extent because they are no longer constrained by logic or tactics or logistics, either, when conjecturing how conflicts will resolve themselves.

Finally got around to watching the whole episode.

The exchange between Jamie and Tyrion was very sweet. Last week he was raping Cersei, but now Jamie is raping our heart strings all over again. I'm back to liking him.

I like the idea that the babies getting turned into white walkers remain baby sized zombies. Why the hell not, wouldn't be the craziest thing on this show. Plus it would be terrifying.

Margery getting sex advice from her grandma and then seducing a 12 year old was a little weird.

Could Sansa be any more dull? Her presence on screen sucks my energy. I wish a pirate would cut her head off.

I'm glad the Bran storyline has gone somewhere, even if they are captured. It's better than watching them wander around in the woods.

Dany's storyline is garbage right now and it needs to pick up in a bad way. Does she have ships lined up or is she just gathering money for ships on the way to the sea? I can't remember.

Overall I liked the episode, I'm hoping Oberyn and Tywin make an appearance next week though.

SIAP but there's a Peter Dinklage Q&A from Reddit from a couple weeks ago. If you're not familiar with reddit his name is generally highlighted in a lighter blue that stands out. He answers a bunch of questions and he hasn't read the books either so he's one of us.

Well, to be fair, Melissandre needed "royal" blood to create that creature, which is why Gendry was involved (cuz he was a bastard son of Robert Baratheon)...and now he's gone because Davos let him go. Remember they (Mel and Stannis) used his blood and the leaches and named people to be killed: Robb Stark, Joffrey Baratheon, and Baylon Greyjoy...two of which are now dead (and I assume BG is due up).

It's not like she can just give birth to shadow nonja assassins on a whim.

Robert had already died when they took the blood from Gendry, right? That would mean that Gendry's blood wasn't "royal" blood anymore, because Joffrey wasn't technically a Baratheon...

ETA: or does this magic go by who "should" have royal blood?

What do you mean? Robert was king, and Gendry was his son. Thus, Gendry had royal blood (or whatever it was called). Just because RObert died doesn't make Gendry no longer fathered by a king. A father dying doesn't change who his son is.

It's a dangerous thing.

I wish I could get the clip of Hodor talking/yelling into the well as my ringtone. I find myself repeating that scene over and over (out loud) any time he's on screen.

Dude, the Baratheons were high born before Robert took the throne. It's not like he was some plebeian.

If I'm not mistaken, he even had Targaryen blood in him as well.

Eta: nice edit

I don't think you could lose your royal blood just because the king died. You may get bumped down the ladder but your still offspring of the king. Same with Targaryen. She is still the "rightful" queen even though her king was killed ages ago. She may not BE queen but she still could be.

Granted I don't know shite about a monarchy so it's just IMO
