Here's something no one has brought up: They did Mance Raydar perfectly. Almost identical to how I imagined him in the books.

They film one of the most epic fantasy novels over two years with a cast of thousands and on location in exotic locales. Took Martin nothing but his imagination and power to a computer in terms of cost. We all just need to accept that there are going to be changes we don't like. It is afterall just entertainment.

thank you

He seemed younger in my mind. Other than that I think he was fine.

btw - I'm not sure if the ignorants know that the wildlings want to get behind the wall yet. I saw you posting that in the other thread.

You know what's funny. I was about to say I thought they could have done Mance and especially The Lord of Bones better

Go see i wish i was tebow's last post in the non-spoilers thread. I just spit cabernet at the screen and laughed for atleast a minute. These poor fricks have no idea what is going to happen.

I can't wait...

Yeah, he looked nothing like how I imagined him. Mance looked pretty close. Wish he was playing a lute though.

Younger, skinnier, not as haggard.

But looks are the least important part, so its not a huge deal.

Again man, I'm pretty sure you don't know the true intentions of the wildlings at this point, so you might want to back off telling them about how they want to get to safety behind the wall in the other thread.

Yep. I imagined him looking like a skeleton with skin and hair.

And speaking of miscasting, I really don't like their choice for Roose Bolton. He's not even slightly intimidating and I don't think most the viewers have a clue who he is. Roose was said to be an extremely disturbing person from the chapter of his introduction.

Honestly my biggest dissapointment is the omission of Mance's cloak speech followed by Jon's "bastard" story. Such a small detail that would've made that meeting much more epic.

Then Sam not becoming the slayer and the omission of Strong Belwas. Those I can somewhat understand because of the cost of another actor for Belwas and the CGI it takes to create an other.

But there's no reason to take away the mance and Jon back story.

I never thought of him as intimidating physically, just smart, cruel, and dangerous.
Also there are so many characters that play a part, no way non book readers will be able to keep track of them all

He's certainly someone that doesn't seem important which is good.

Question: trying to fit in how his character progressed again. At this point is he planning anything, or does his character change at the death of Robb to take advantage of the situation. Basically, what part does he play in the red wedding? I forget.
