Would you rather John have a baby with Daenerys, or not? Yes its weird, but it's actually consistent with royal families for many centuries.
What do you think?

As long as I get to see Daenerys tits while they're making the baby, I'm fine with it.

Agree with this

Seems unnecessary if the baby won’t play a role in the show. They already have enough trouble with time passage on the show to have to deal with an entire pregnancy in 6 episodes.

I don’t know or care. Regardless, this won’t happen in the books providing someone forges in Fatso’s will that someone finish the books after he tragically dies eating his 85th slice going for the Pizza Crawl World Record.

After Christianity, if it was forbidden in the bible, the people would have scorned them. Cousins married all the time, but aunt/nephew fricking is specifically mentioned in the OT.
As for GoT, I'm cool with it. Actually, I think the fat man is kind of a reprobate genius, getting people to root for a guy boning his aunt.

Well this isn't really true at all. It was quite common for uncles to marry nieces, aunts to nephews, etc, after Christianity. The house of habsburg had so much incest that they were famous for genetic deformities. Charles the 2nd of Spain was the result of a guy marrying his niece. The truth is that inbreeding between relatives closer than just cousins was common in Europe until a few of centuries ago.

If they get married in the show, you can get it’s the plan for the books.

Definitely. The baby will be the fire/ice savior

shite, one century ago. Nicholas II was cousin of his wife, which caused their son to be a hemophiliac, which brought about the fall of Russia.

I don’t agree with that. There will be a lot more going on in the books than in the show.

I don’t know how anyone hasn’t given up hope by now.

You know, I hadn't looked into The Winds of Winter in a while, so this comment inspired me to google to see if there had been any recent updates or whatever. Apparently this is one of the latest Martin quotes:
So he's pretty explicitly admitting that he's never going to finish. This is where we are now.
quote:
“Many many people invest their time into works without endings. F. Scott Fitzgerald never finished The Last Tycoon, Charles Dickens never finished Edwin Drood, Mervyn Peake never finished Titus Alone, yet those works are still read.”

No way they change something that fundamental. They’re taking shortcuts and removing characters, but you can bet Jon, Dany, and probably the remaining children of Tywin and Ned will have the same (or very similar) endings in both mediums.

I would like to see John and Dany have a baby, and then they both die in the war, but their alliance wins. The baby is then taken to Kings Landing as the future King to be raised by Tyrion, who will rule as hand/Regent until the child comes of age, with Drogon also surviving and keeping mindful watch over him as well.

Let’s assume the books are written. Where is Jon Snow going to find the time to impregnate Dany? Best case, WoW ends with Dany making it to Dragonstone. Then that gives us one book for a big arse battle to take place and for Dany to live for at least 9 months, plus the number of months to be impregnated by Jon. The Others aren’t going to be sitting on their asses here.
There is also the prophesies of people which will betray her, one of which is a lion, which is almost certainly Tyrion. Personally I think he’ll take Rhaegal up to the North while Dany stays in the South with Drogan, and Tyrion will swear his allegiance to Jon. Their connection is no coincidence nor is that prophesy. Tyrion is the lion that will betray Dany.

Also show watchers need to keep this in mind: Cersei is simply alive for borrowed time. The only reason she is still around is Lena Headey’s fantastic performance and how entertaining Cersei is. By this point in the books, Cersei is certainly dead due to the buildup of Jaime killing her and Cersei’s obsession with Wildfire.
I call this the Benjamin Linus Syndrome. It’s when you can’t kill a character where they should be killed because the actor is so fricking good at their job that you want to keep them around as long as possible knowing they’ll give you nothing but good scenes. Lena is a fantastic actress, and she’s so good that she’s simply alive due to her acting ability. It’s a detriment to the overall narrative though.

I don't really think I buy this, though. They had no problem killing Sean Bean, Charles Dance, etc when the story demanded it. They usually keep characters around longer than book counterpart when they want to combine them with another character ore avoid having to cast someone new.

There is so much material that I'm not sure how it will be covered in two books. I think GRRM may have fricked his book series up with A Feast for Crows.
