I haven't read the books (except book 1) but I've read/seen enough to be disqualified from the Hodor thread, glad the Middle Ground is back up.

So is this where we can say whatever we want and not have to worry about rustling jimmies?

Lol, someone posted the exact TOJ scenario including R+J, and I got attacked for saying it was a Targaryen in the clip.
Worse yet is readers downvoting the post and then replying to it sarcastically, then calling others out for spoiling... Lol. We've been doing this for six years, that reaction to a post is akin to posting the spoiler itself.

Anyway, peace. Good discussion, till next week. I do think show spoilers need to stay out the thread. No need for multiple threads after next week if coco is still absent.

for the most part. you have to be careful talking about stuff in the books but not in the show of whatever stories are ahead of the show

I haven't read the first page of the books but I've been spoiled on some things and said frick it and read some online, but I know what's been on the show and what hasn't, like the ToJ and I don't bring up shite that hasn't been brought up yet. Even when I saw the previews for next week and realized it was the ToJ I didn't say anything on the Hodor thread, because bases solely on the show, there's no way anyone would know WTF that was.

There's apparently only a few things left for the readers to spoile and they will be goddamned if they aren't going to spoil them while they can, apparently.

What the frick are you talking about? This isn't the readers thread. It's my understanding that this thread is for people who watch the show, but have been exposed to a little more material than just the show. Which is the category I fall into, unfortunately.

it is and you're right. also since the books and the show are 2 completely different things now, the readers thread is still necessary

Yeah I think all 3 threads are a good thing. It's not like it cost extra to have them.

non-readers appreciate our benevolent maester race, b/c they answer questions (like mine earlier about victarian's death)

Pretty much...

Unless they are trying to avoid further exposure.

At this post in the series, the different threads only serve two real purposes:

1: To allow readers to maintain a sense of superiority to non-readers

2: To prevent non-reader vaginas from bitching about backstory and such being "spoilers"

The reader thread is a bunch of mental masturbation and the non-reader thread is casual watchers and dense fricktards who think everything they didnt catch is a spoiler.

At this point, any non-reader who has watched the "History and Lore" stuff from the blu-rays (all on Youtube) and has spent any amount of time googling shite from the show should more or less be on the same level as book readers for the purposes of the show. If after all that you havent thought about R+L=J or the like you're just a dense frick, its not a "spoiler" at this point.

I know there was a big push by some that there was no need for the freaking Readers' thread, much less this one. Luckily Psych relented and brought this one back. But doing away with the Readers' thread would've been disastrous after everything that has been post tonight in it.

a single thread to rule them all would last all of about 4 posts before fricking chaos, anger, and a new non-reader thread being made
