I give a punchers chance to Selmy Lannister Baratheon the Cleganes Red Viper and Darkstar in that order. Darkstar is kinda a wildcard since we don't really see him in action but he's related to Dayne.
But I still think Dayne wins the vast majority against each. Somewhere around 8/9 times out of 10

That's what I'm saying, he'd have one chance to strike, and if he succeeded it'd be done, he would just be able to move so much quicker and could dodge and then attack, if his first attack failed he would absolutely be dead

As crazy as it sounds, I bet Arya would have a chance against Drogo.
Lol what the frick? Based on what?

He better hit their necks, because even if he strikes, they can easily get another hit. If he hits their armor, chances are, they're getting another shot. You're thinking too much from the Red Viper's strategy, who knows exactly how to counter armored men. Drogo doesn't. The Dothraki are like Spartans: powerful united, weak when alone. They'd make very short work of him.

A few more months under the faceless men, I'd give her a decent shot against Drogo.

Yes, but the dudes pretty fricking deadly with that curved blade, I'm not discounting his ability to put it in their neck.

No fricking way. All those you mentioned would make very short work of Drogo. The fight wouldn't last 30 seconds. As soon as Drogo hit one of their shields, they'd kill him instantly. Drogo is a badass brute, but nothing more. Typically he does raids and battles other Dothraki, not go to war with armored soldiers, and certainly doesn't do one-on-one fights with them. Drogo would get destroyed by them, and lose 10 out of 10 to all of them.
Agreed. If Drogo was trained and accustomed to fighting in armor I think he would be close to Daynes level but without armor he doesn't hold up against mediocre westerosi warriors. He's not trained in attacking the armpits, eyes and the back of the knees (the weak points) of an armored knight. Drogo would would hack and slash at their full plate and would only full and/or break his Arakh. It's not his talent that keeps him from winning its his knowledge.
And I for one don't think Dayne would be invincible in this tourney. I think Robert would be very even with him and I think Jaime could give him a very good run if he was at his eat that day.
But that doesn't change the fact that Dayne losing would still be quite the upset.

Give her a few more years in Braavos and I bet she could take him. The only one this list I think Drogo would have a shot at beating is Belwas.

Drogo doesn't know much about chained mail or armor. He's going to be blindly aiming for whatever he can find, just like the pit fighters did to Ser Barristan. He has the instincts of a killer, but a professional fight in a one-on-one match, none whatsoever. It's like proposing that a WWE wrestler could take down high grade UFC fighter or professional boxer.

I'm convinced Selmy could beat Dayne.
Honestly, I'm convinced Selmy's the best fighter in this whole tournament.

not in one on one combat. The faceless men train their pupils in stealth, trickery and efficiency. Fighting men face to face is exactly what they train them NOT to do.

It's nuts to me he's a 3 seed. I thought for sure he'd be a #1 or 2 seed at minimum.

He should definitely be seeded above the mountain but I dont mind him being below Dayne, Robert or Jaime. Those four are as close to equals as it gets in this tourney

Yeah there's not many characters when you hear of their reputation through word of mouth AND get to witness it in POV. Without Dawn, I'm willing to bet Selmy could take Dayne. He's smart, a gifted jouster, and one of the most respected and admired knights in all of Westeros.
Defeated Maelys the Monstrous, told the Kingsguard to step up to him after his dismissal and not one of them moved even though he would have been outnumbered, the dude's just a badass.
And doing all of that while being old.^^^

While I most certainly agree with you I'm going to play the devil's advocate here......
The Kingsguard did fricking blow at that time.

Yeah a bunch of child abusing pussies.
Oakheart seemed alright though.

Tournament prediction:
Dayne, Hightower, Barristan, The Hound, Jaime, Mance, Bronn, Robert are my anticipated "Elite 8"
Then...
Danye, Selmy, Jaime, Robert
....at this point it's really anybody's game, but.....
Dayne, Robert
.....
Dayne

If it comes down to this I dont know who I would vote for to be honest.
I think either could win on any given day.

I realize you're considered the resident ASOIAF expert, but I'd have to disagree with you here. Obviously all this is speculation, and often we only have testimonies of characters to determine fighting ability. However, Robert Baratheon's best friend thought Dayne was better.
Obviously when dealing with great warriors like Dayne and Robert, anything can happen. But if we're talking about a best of 10 kind of thing...
