Pretty sure every Bedding Ceremony would be rape then. Unless you believe the women actually wanted audiences. Also every person that went to the brothels was a rapist. Unless you think the women wanted to have sex with old, fat men...which if they wanted to, why would they be charging? There was a threat there too...I paid you, if you don't have sex with me, I will hurt you.

No one ever won the "that's not technically rape" argument in the court of public opinion.

I highly doubt Ned and Cat's was rape. We just haven't gotten in their minds yet at the time. Personally I think both of their mindsets were, "Well we're married, and duty bound to have sex. Let's make the best of it and have a baby."
Lysa though, absolutely a rape. She had just been through a traumatic experience of a forced abortion, and had to marry a guy in his 60s with rotting teeth, and Lysa herself I believe called it such in the books. She had to go along with it, and hated every second of it.

Let's recall:
1) She sees Reek in the dog kennel. BUT, this is the dude that turned on her family, burned to death her brothers (she still thinks), etc. Sansa is too nice to want to torture anyone. But, she REFUSED to take Reek's arm and walk to the wedding ceremony. She has no love for that a-hole
2) She was TOLD about the horrible things Ramsay did...by a JEALOUS GIRL that had ulterior motives to tell that story.
So, to Sansa, this guy is the man occupying her residence. Family of the people that 'back stabbed' (literally) her family.
But, she doesn't KNOW of his horrendous deeds, really. WE saw them. SHE was told of them by the girl that wants Ramsay. Wouldn't you question my stories and motives if I told you terrible things about YOUR girlfriend...all while I wanted your girlfriend?

Not sure about those names. but, try not to be guilty of reductio ad absurdum.
I made the point, quite succinctly, that a LOT of these marriages are set up and not of "willing" nature as we think of it today.

Well, right after the episode ended there were multiple ppl on here that were spinning different perceptions that involved LF giving a sht about Sansa.
Also, in this very thread there are ppl rebutting the idea of rape by claiming she chose to marry Ramsay. Claiming she "chose" to marry Ramsey is pretty much denying it.

No. The concept is that he didn't rape her because in HIS view...it was simply sex with his wife. in HIS view...it was with a woman who accepted his marriage, etc.
If I am WILLING to mug you, but you simply pull out some money and GIVE it to me...I did not commit a crime. From my view, you simply GAVE it to me. It matters not if I "would have" stolen it. I didn't have to.

also, ramsay doesn't have access to hbo go so he isn't aware of anything that went on between LF and sansa
