Thats a good idea thanks.

In the book, Dany was more willing after some persuasion from Drogo.
quote:

hy in the hell is the queen letting her twin brother pump her snatch doggie style? There's a reason for everything and there has to be an excellent, if not entertaining reason why a queen would let her brother hit it from the back.
the fact that its twins f'ing each other is basically the whole deal. Their history is revealed as the story progress

She's into it as much as her brother is. Not only is Cersei Jamie's sister... she is his twin sister. There's some screwed up intimacy between the two of them... and more will be revealed soon about that.

Well what the frick? Neither of them have a goal? Just to bust a nut? frick. That's retarded as shite. Goddamn incestual assholes.

At least come up with some random bullshite reason other than just loving to frick. I mean that one cat did say "Oh the things I do for love". People don't typically throw that kind of thing out there after porking their sister (unless you're in Alabama) unless they genuinely do love them or are playing a part to accomplish some sort of goal.

Their goal is they love each other. Its obviously more complicated than that, ESPECIALLY on Cersei's side. She has motives for everything. But honestly, this might be the relationship with the least amount of ulterior motives among the Lannisters, which is what makes it so sick.

Well those two are fricked up. I could somewhat understand if maybe the queen was trying to get a pure blood son from her brother or if they were on the DL because they eventually wanted to rule as King or Queen or some Jerry Springer shite like that, but fricking a sibling just to frick them? Come on now! At least make up some bullshite reason like the dude is hung like a moose or the chic can frick like a beast. Some shite, anything.

I'm curious how they're going to work the history of Westeros into the narrative. Specifically the event(s) leading to King Robert's Rebellion, (and the differing viewpoints of what happened), and Aegon's Conquest of Westeros and the history of the Targ's and Old Valyria.
I guess they could have Maester Luwhin teaching a history class for the Stark children.

they are fricked up and the fact that they're in love w/ each other and fricking basically a mirror image of themselves is part of it (they're identical twins in the books). You're trying to figure it all out and it wasn't revealed til the last 5 minutes of the first episode. Like said, more will be revealed.

Like I said, I don't mind spoilers in that regard.

I did some quick reading on who each character was last night and a tad bit of the history of their world and I accidentally read the fate of one character.

I refuse to post spoilers in the thread sorry. You can look it up if you want.

This site is good because you can filter spoilers by book.

should maybe stick to towerofthehand.com bc you can read ab characters and set the scope to what you've seen/read. Other than that, there's tons of spoilers so too much research and you're bound to spoil yourself. LINK

That's what I linked

Winter Is Coming

This site is good as well, they promise no spoilers on front page. They also have separate episode
recaps for readers and non-readers.

I'll just wait, but thanks to both of your guys for the information

Just realized that Queen Incest was also Leonidas' woman. How can you go from bad arse Spartan queen to Incest queen?

To be fair Jaime is one of the most bad arse characters.

The "mirror image" of each other thing is a big motivator in the incest plotline.

It's not this way in the TV show, but it IS this way in the books... Cersei and Jamie are both extremely beautiful people. They put pretty much everyone else to shame. They see only themselves as worthy of each other.

Take Jamie's famous quote as a clue. "There are no men like me. There is only me." How could a person who feels that way about himself love a woman who was anything less than himself? Who is more "himself" than his twin sister?

Cersei: "Anyone who isn't us is an enemy." She isn't talking about ALL of the Lannisters when she says "us." She means JAMIE and her ONLY!

Now, I'm not excusing the behavior... I'm just trying to give you an idea of what THEY are thinking. They are messed up people.

There's LOTS of messed up people in Game of Thrones. Look for the psychological mess... it's there if you want to explore it.

Yeah dude, seriously, don't do that.

There are some epically surprising moments in these books and in turn this series. This is the only book series where I read a chapter and threw the book across the room because I was so pissed or shocked.

And characters you might hate now you will like later.

I'll just add my thoughts about the pilot. I expect it to get better, and it was already awesome. Sean Bean is the perfect Ned Stark, and Peter Dinklage is the perfect Tyrion. They got those two right, and everything else will be fine. I'm glad to hear positive reactions in this thread from people who had never read the books. If you put in the effort to learn the characters you won't be dissapointed. Overall, it was an excellent first episode.

I was surprised that they had the Jaime/Cercie sex scene like it was because it made it connect in a weird way to the Dothraki scenes, which I think was unintentional.

I agree they should have been having sex in a more romantic or intimate way, perhaps show some kissing as well. That would have made it more jarring imho. Not fricking doggy style like they did.
