What is the biggest example of bad suspense show writing and why is it:
“You need to listen to me!”
Silent pause where something could be explained
“No I am going to do X thing!”
Silent pause where something could be explained
“Just stop and listen to me!!”
Silent pause where something could be explained
“No, just let me do X!”
Silent pause where something could be explained, and then violent moment that artificially inflated tension.
Gets really frustrating, and not in a good way/

Watched a 30 minute season 1 recap video before the season 2 premiere which really helped put me back into the show.
Enjoyed the first episode. Like others have said Tabitha is an idiot that can’t shut up. I see promise in some of the new bus characters. The Dr’s girlfriend being on the bus could be seen coming a mile away. Poor Asian guy is now firmly in the friend zone.
So what are the monsters. Lots of characteristics of Vampires in some lore. Having to be invited in, only come out at night, mind control, etc. But they don’t kill like vamps, they gut people. I saw one theory that they are some sort of alien but I don’t know about that.
Off topic: my iPhone Lock Screen background is still the Winterfel/LSU mashup that says LSU IS COMING. I think you made that Cocomo. I don’t change things often

How did the dude throw the rope down to Boyd if he’s chained to the wall?
Monsters are “just the tip of the spear.” Oh shite.
Why would they not immediately tell the diner people what’s going on. Even if it’s hard to believe they’re more likely to stay put if you inform them like “hey this sounds insane but there are monsters out there that will kill you all, just look out the window and see for yourselves.”
I’d honestly like to see the monsters attack at some point. That would be cool. The closest we’ve come is the very first opening scene and now the bus scene. I get that it’s “scarier” if we don’t see it onscreen, but it would be cool.
So did ole Martin infect boyd with whatever he had crawling in his skin? Same shite that chick has? Speaking of, where is the chick? I don’t remember what happened to her when Boyd went into the tree.
The vibe of this show, especially night time scenes, is so creepy. I love it. The monster stalking scenes are so well done.

I don’t think it’s the same but I’ve been wondering that too. She said she was gonna be right behind him in the tree, but there’s no telling where you end up.

Right, it seems weird that they haven't shown her yet. I assume she will arrive as some deus ex machina at some point this seasnon.
It's been a while since I've seen the first season, but the shite that showed up on Sara's arm...was it creepy crawly shite like Boyd has now, or was it just words etched into her skin (similar to a razor) that went away? I can't remember which.
I'm starting to wish I had rewatched S1 before the new season. Hell, I may even go back and do that at some point during the season.

This show has its flaws, but I can look past them so long as they keep the mystery going. That and Lost is one of my favorite shows ever. Regardless of the haters
Hopefully it will be a long journey and not a short one.
Sucks that were getting only 10 episodes again, but if it has continued success maybe will see some 15-20 episode seasons.
Surprised that no major network would pick this up. Lost was money in the bank. Hard to believe that nobody wanted to take a chance on it leaving us with this MGM crap.

My blood is your blood now. That dude had to be some sort of undead type thing right? How could he be alive for years unless the monsters were giving him food and water or he is a monster. Did they leave a cliffhanger with the bus couple in the house? There was a panicked knock at the door and the dude like a idiot opened the door without even looking then it cut away right? I can’t remember if there were screams after that or not.

Yeah, my initial thoughts were that he was a prisoner obviously, but then I thought about how he'd survive and that he had to be one of the monsters (or maybe they made him one?). And then when Boyd got his hand free he tried infecting him with his blood, so I assumed he was a monster or something in between.
That whole scene was relatively confusing though.

I think they left that cliffhung IIRC. But based on every other encounter on the show, I have to assume they're dead and we just didn't see it (or the aftermath of it).
I still don't know how that monster chick got into the ruins of the house to get ole Tom.
I'm wondering how it works with the monsters...are they like vampires where you have to let them in, or is that only if there is a talisman? Because Victor had that trailer and he said they have to be quiet because there is no talisman there. So could the monsters open that door if they wanted to, or would they still have to be let in? Based on Victor's comment, it seems like they could open doors or windows or whatever as long as the structure isn't talisman-protected.

I really like this show. I have not been able to figure out the mythos the setting and the creatures...which I appreciate. It is nice to be kept guessing and let the story unfold.

I agree, as long as they do actually progress and give us answers to some things here and there. If we get through the rest of S2 and only end up with more questions and very little answered, I won’t be happy with that.

I’m fine with 8-10 episodes. Cuts out the bullshite filler. That was one of my few gripes with Lost. Just way too many BS episodes

Seems like they actually have a bigger budget this season as the monsters look different. More practical effects with slight CGI.
2 episodes in and it's pretty good so far but the show added a hell of lot more mysteries and questions.
Who tossed the rope down to Boyd?
How long was the old Marine hanging up there, and who put him there?
What the hell did the old Marine give Boyd?
What is the connection to the kid with seizures and the town?
Why is the Smiley monster so interested in human things?
What was that in the cave that was locked up?
My only gripe with the show is that it keeps adding mysteries instead of answering them but we are only 2 episode into the 2nd season I'm sure some questions will be answered. Also, why didn't Boyd tell anyone what happened to him.
I'd also like to see the townspeople try to capture a monster.

I believe if the dwelling has a talisman they have to be let in. Although I believe they were pretty safe in that panel truck if they were able to lock the roll up door from the inside. I mean they might have super strength but we haven’t seen evidence of that to my knowledge except the ripping open of chest cavities. I’m still not positive about this though. The bus couple in the house didn’t have a talisman and that house had windows but if it was monsters they still knocked on the door instead of just breaking a window. Hell the talismans might be a placebo. Though it did seem to keep them out of the RV in season one.
