The ending was great and the first two seasons were great. The rest is just MEH... I did enjoy watching it, just not as much.

The ending is worth it IMO.

Man I’m hot on this show.

They went a little hard in the paint with Julie Taylor being such a count later in S1.

Minka Kelly may be the most perfect high school girl/young adult female role, ever. Even considering Sophia Bush, Mischa, Bilson, Jennie Garth…damn that’s just some of the competition. But I think so.

What’s weird is it’s like Julie switches back and forth between best girl ever and biggest c$&t ever depending on which season you’re watching.

When they went to Mexico - it started going off the rails but after that season it got back on track

I’m in the middle of a rewatch too. Love the show.

One thing that has come up: Dillon, Texas has the highest rate of statutory rape in the world.

Just to reopen this thread just to say again what a great show this is/was. I finished it off tonight and was pleasantly surprised how well they rapped everything that was going and didn't leave tons of questions.
Was it perfect? No. But it didn't need to be. You gained a connection with the characters and they all had fun personalities. Plus it is a damn good red blooded American show here greatest state in the Union.
If you have seen it it is worth a rewatch, I'm sure I will when the time is right. And if you aren't finished, pick it back up.

True, but that was also during the writer’s strike

Which episodes or season was the writers strike? I really don't remember it. Some one else said season 2.

One of my favorite shows ever. It’s a huge credit to the writers that it is such a great even while there are such obvious plot holes.

Someone mentioned Kyle Chandler’s voice and they are right on the money. No wonder he is such a good coach with a voice like that. He makes you want to do your absolute best for him.

I hold coach and Tammy Taylor’s marriage as one of the best ever put on film. Thy just seemed to have a genuine affection for one another and seemed to always work through their issues very well.

So many places in the south have a Buddy around town involved with sports.

they cast the show really well. The guy who plays buddy could be at every high school football game in texas and it wouldn't seem weird. I have worked for like 8 guys that look just like him.

Connie Britton nails the southern mom. It is mind-blowing that Sandra Bullock wins an oscar for the blind side while Britton is playing basically the same role a millions time better.

Zach Guilford (Saracen) and Scott Porter (Street) have a podcast on YouTube going over the episodes called "It's not only football". It just started so they are only on episode 3 of season 1.

It's an awesome show. Jealous of anyone who is going through it for the first time.

Without a doubt. Best I've seen a real life marriage, especially a coaching one, on TV
