Yes, it's weird it gets so overshadowed by the TV show.

Movie came out in 2004. Show came out in 2006 and lasted until 2011. That's a lot of constant exposure. Plus you didn't need to see the movie to watch the show.

Just glad they kept Connie Britton around

The only positive thing I can say about the movie is that it wasn't quite as bad as the tv show was.

Love the movie, and love the score. I also had a newfound respect for Tim McGraw, he does a great job playing the washed up, peaked in high school dad

I'd read the book before the movie and was really scared the movie would screw up the book (which is great).

The movie is different, but just as good as the book. It manipulates some scenes for drama but hits the basic themes out of the park.

It could have gone a little too far and hit Varsity Blues level, but it stays more grounded and kills it.

Or know anything about football.

The show was a smash hit in the UK and they don't know shite about American Football or American schools but the show was a success because it was a teen soap opera and anybody can watch that.

The movie is about football and THAT team based on the book.

Totally different than the TV show.

“Being perfect has nothing to do with that score board out there. It’s not about winning. Its about you and relationship between your family and your friends.

It’s about being able to to look your friends in the eye and know that you didn’t let them down. Because you told them the truth. And that truth is that you did everything that you could. There’s not one thing you could’ve done.

Can you live in that moment as best you can... with clear eyes... and love in your heart? With joy in your heart. If you can do that, gentlemen, then you’re perfect.”
