This is a joke right??

You have to be good before you can be great. That movie was awful!

sunshine.

was so psyched and enjoyed the movie so much until...

the other that comes to mind (and i'm probably in the minority) is 'in the mouth of madness'. lovecraft inspired greatness..the ending of which flat out ruined the rest of the movie.

i've told people who want to watch it to literally skip the ending.

almost GOAT..

Master and Commander comes to mind. Right when I start to think again that I am the only person in the world who thought this movie was a classic, some random guy mentions it on here in a random thread. It gives me hope.

I love In the Mouth of Madness. Just a glorious Lovecraftian nightmare.

My problem isn't the ending -- that was at least Lovecraftian (to an extent, though this isn't the place to debate what "Lovecraftian" really means -- it's that the middle felt rushed. There's barely an interval to establish normalcy in the town before everything spirals badly out of control, which makes the horror less...horrifying. You need to establish contrasts to accentuate the horror. That said, I think this is an excellent example of a movie that could have been great with a little work.
