The first reactions are usually bought and paid for fan boys that speak in hyperbole on Twitter about it

“Guys they finally did the F4 justice on the big screen and I wept in the theatre for hours after !”

“One of the greatest MCU movies to date! This movie is non stop action but will also tug on your emotional strings”

Apparently it doesn’t suck.

Less quippy and Josh Whedonesque dialogue. Looks like they’re doing a bit more of a serious tone this time.

You forgot the beloved "return to form" "MCU is back", et al

But yeah. Early reactions are usually fluffed up, paid for ads

I'm sure it'll at least be fine. They have way too much invested for it to not be at least watchable.

They made Surfer a girl

I don't think they are done giving fans the bird

I think stuff like this is stupid, but also for that character specifically the gender doesn't really matter

If we had They/Them Fantastic, The Transhuman Torch, or the Invisible Nonbinary Genderfluid Free-Spirit I would be singing a different tune

I think this movie being set in the 60s is going to help it out.

I originally had zero interest in seeing this movie, but I have liked some of the clips I have seen and plan to give it a try.

I generally hate when an established character’s race or gender is changed, but I’m not particularly bothered by this one - so far. The “I herald his beginning…” scene is impressive.

We will see how the rest of it turns out.

As I always say about these things, don't just blindly read reactions, find people you trust and see what they have to say. Coy Jandreau for example has been (politely) critical of several movies in the past, but he loved Fantastic Four. Supes with his whole "first and foremost I want to thank the cast and crew" has been critical, he loved it. 3C Films is another that isn't afraid to be critical if he doesn't like a movie, loved it. One thing he said that I found interesting was that this is arguably the least funny Marvel film, which I like to hear.

Is someone checking on this person? Has the theater management been informed?

I can't get past the casting for this. I'm not a huge Krasinski fan, but he would have been a better choice for Reed Richards than Pedro. I just can't see him as Mr Fantastic.

As long as they got the rights to the Beach Boys song, we should be good to go.

After watching Fountain of Youth, I realized how one dimensional Krasinski is.

Not a big Silver Surfer fan, I see.
