Is this worth watching?
I want to see it mainly because it's based on a Louisiana football star, but some people told me it was a bad movie.

Any thoughts from the Movie Board?

Decent movie. The character in the book is based on Choo-Choo Justice of UNC. Billy Cannon is not who it's based on like many believe.

It's very enjoyable, especially for someone from Louisiana. It's not a biography. Those who say "it's really about the guy from UNC" are missing the boat. It's about a college football hero who has a hard time adjusting to life after football. The fictional story matches any number of running backs from that time period - including Billy Cannon.

The movie is based on a Louisiana team, it's filmed at LSU and around Baton Rouge. What more do you want to call it "based on LSU"?

I think it's a pretty good movie. Any movie with Jessica Lang and John Goodman is going to be well worth a watch! I just wish the skinny dipping scene was shot during the day!

Isn't there a Jessica Lange bush shot or did I dream that? I haven't seen it since I was a kid.

Kind of, it's dark.

I liked the movie a lot. I love how he talks about heroes. How they have a certain shelf life.

I was at the football games when they filmed the game scenes. They came out at halftime I believe and would run some plays. The one when Goodman picks up the fumble was run over and over.
