Been watching this on TV Land. Boy, that Debra is a real Bitch! Also, Robert really makes the show, very under rated.

Use to watch it with my Paw Paw. The episode where they paint the house is all time funny.

One of the worst shows I've ever tried to watch. I'll never understand it

I never watched Raymond until about 5 years after it left the air. I was surprised to see how old fashioned much of it was. Many of the situations could have come out of Ozzie and Harriet. The wife is actually a stay at home mom who worries b/c she can't cook as well as her mother in law!

It wavers between classical sitcom form and post-Seinfeld quirky. Sometimes it's a standard sitcom, in both style and content, that could have been a Dick Van Dyke Show episode 60 years ago. Other times it's all the cast members standing in a row like talking heads exchanging dialogue for 5+ minutes. It makes me want to watch an episode of Hogan's Heroes so I could see some shite get blown up.

I can't talk about ELR without mentioning it had one of my all time favorite lines. Somebody tells Raymond he's wasting himself on sports and should write something serious, and he replies: "I don't want to write The Great American Novel. I don't even want to read The Great American Novel".

We had some great Jill (Taylor) vs Debra debates back in the day

Jill was driven af which lent to her bitchiness, I think Debra is just a mega bitch naturally

In fairness to Debra, she did have some crazy people both in her house and across the street.

I thought it was a great show.

She is a bitch, but Ray is also a terrible husband. Everyone on the show is a jerk really. Still a highly rewatchable show though. Marie going in on Debra's cooking/cleaning is always hilarious to me.

You know I’ve never seen a single episode of this, and I really have no desire to go back and do so. And I have watched every single episode of king of queens, which looks like an identical twin to the show. But yeah, this show never looked like it would interest me

In fairness to Ray, he warned her when they were looking at houses. It was Deb that pushed for them to move across the street from Frank and Marie.

Also, I don't know why, but every time I hear the song "Jungle Love", I think back to the episode where the electricity goes out during a snow storm. The episode ends with the 3 adult couples dancing to the song. I don't know why, but that episode has just stayed with me.

Ray tried to warn her. She pushed him to buy that house.

They were a terrible couple. Ray deserved all the shite he got but Debra knew what she was getting in to.
