No, i live in an LA suburb, and while mid century is the dominant architectural style here, what’s depicted in the show is way over the top to the point of being cartoonish. It’s an intentional choice by the storytellers to create a caricature of “conservative” lifestyle.

Agreed.

Which is why the decor and style of Nate’s house was a carefully curated choice to depict a “suburban conservative neighborhood”.

Dude, the house isn't out of date because liberals wanted to show that Nate and Cassie are stuck in the past. The house is just simply retro. If anything, it's a fixer upper they bought and that style is coming back in style anyway. It's old school but still very fashionable. Just reading online even Reddit is gushing over the house and it's getting nothing but praise. So I guess it backfired even if you were right. Which you aren't.

Reddit gushes over tranny Jules, and never did I once say or imply that the costume and/or set design was poor.

But the design elements of their home are 100% correlated to them being in a “traditional conservative suburb” as described in Rue’s voiceover.

Yea, we know.

Traditional conservative suburb =/= According to liberals, conservatives are stuck in the past. Hence the extremely dated decor.

So explain Levinson’s intent, because it surely wasn’t coincidental.

Do you not see that it is matching the entire vibe of that whole storyline? So is Nicks pleated bance and wide collar shirt style meaning he's stuck in the past as a conservative? Is Maddy's 1970's Mercedes also saying the same thing? What about Maddy's fur coat and dress that is straight out of 60's Hollywood, is that saying the same thing? Or are you just singling out the home decor? It's literally fitting the theme that they are going for for that storyline, not some liberal sending a message.

Maddy is a struggling intern, facading as a successful Hollywood player in her attempt to woo Cassie. Her rolling up to a poolside lounge in a dress and fur encapsulates that.

No shite, but the car and clothes are still expensive and she could have easily been driving a newer car and a more modern fashion design, not some big arse fur coat in the middle of the summer. But they are going for a certain look, that fits exactly in line with what Nate and Cassie have going on. You can't pick and choose like you are to fit your narrative.

And how about the conservative religious family from the beginning of episode 1? The daughter was literally dressed like someone out of 1800s little house on the prairie.

Juxtapose that with Jules ultra modern apartment and aesthetic.

I think you might be digging a bit too deep into the narration of a 22 year old drug addict and strip club manager from Southern California....

Agreed. I always just thought the outdated style of the house meant that Nate and Cassie were trying to appear richer than they really were by purchasing a big fixer upper. She talks about wanting to remodel the kitchen and bathrooms and Nate says they don't have enough money yet.
